As we continue to move through this wonderful journey, self awareness has been one of the most important aspects of making sure we are always living and expressing ourselves in the most authentic way.
Whether you are a content creator, artist, entrepreneur, or mother. Whenever you begin to feel any type of work load getting the best of you where your mental state and state of genuine peacefulness is taking a hit, it’s time to take a pause and examine.
Balance- between personal wellbeing and business/responsibilities is extremely important if we want to continue to grow, to expand: spiritually, mentally, and physically.
These last few months have given us the opportunity to really practice this idea of self awareness. When the work load and pressure of content creating began to weigh its weight on us, we realized that this is a time for us to reflect, recharge, and plan the next steps to take ourselves and everything that Boho Beautiful has become to the next level.
As much as we’re burnt out, we’re also excited for what’s to come in this year ahead of us. The earth element, one of the Earth’s five elements that I always lean on when I need to find grounding and strength within me. Weather it is walking bare foot, digging my fingers into the sand, or ground based asanas with deep slow breathing.
The energy of the earth helps us ground ourselves, to find our sense of place within our body. Mother Earth encourages us to become fully present through reconnecting with our senses, to get out of our heads for a moment, and enhance our deeper connection with our physical body. Our vehicle to life.
We just posted a new Element Series Yoga Class on YouTube, this one today is focused on this element of earth. A grounding, peaceful, and gentle practice that anyone can do. A practice that will help you surrender to the gravity of the Earth, and connect you deeper to your body and everything else that surrounds you.

3 years ago we decided that it was time to take our happiness into our own hands, to face our fears of failing, being judged, or coming short of what we dreamed to create. It hasn’t been an easy journey so far but at the same time it’s been the most amazing few years of our lives.
When we started we both remember thinking ‘imagine if people actually did connect with what we are doing’, and soon thereafter our first couple youtube subscribers appeared, then a couple more, and then some more. And as the channel grew so did we (oh that might be an understatement when we dig back to have a look)
Fast forward three years and what seems like a thousand pieces of content later up to yesterday. It was a big day. We actually reached the 1 million subscriber mark! Unreal. This whole thing feels like a strange and exciting dream most of the time but yesterday was different. Even though we knew it was coming, when we saw it happen we experienced a momentary beautiful glitch in our matrix. The memories of all the days leading up just flooded back in so thick. Overwhelmed.
We’re so incredibly grateful for every single person we’ve been able to connect to through this incredible journey. It truly is the energy of everyone that lifts us up and until this point has kept us on this treadmill moving with such passion. I guess this moment right now is because we both just want to say thank you. For being with us. For your love. And for allowing us into your lives in even the smallest of ways. It’s an honour. We mean it.
And now today, well... This is just the beginning. We don’t know where it’s all going to go, but we know no matter what our gratitude will always be yours.
When we look at our personal connection with the basic natural elements: earth, fire, water, air, and space, it’s truly incredible to see how we are so deeply connected to Mother Earth.
Each element is responsible for different structures in the body. It is believed that if any “element” within ourselves is impure or out of balance with another, disease and suffering can occur. So how do we avoid this from happening? Well by simply taking time each day to reconnect our physical body with the nature of these incredible forces. By connecting the body and mind through movement and breath we allow ourselves to purify these elements, restore balance, and to unfold the inner powers and abilities contained in each element.

The two of us decided from the start that we would not acknowledge valentines day.
We recognized together that spontaneity whenever and wherever it might occur throughout the year feels more thoughtful than what is popularly referred to as a "hallmark holiday" telling us that today is the day to buy, experience, or express something special to one and other.
However with all that said, we also do see that today (and everyday) is a wonderful opportunity to consider spreading love not only to all of our special someones, but also to everyone around us.
Especially because a “holiday” like today can also be a dangerous and lonely reminder to people of their absence of a intimate partnership, which by the way is not a bad thing at all, but can feel quite negative quite easily when bombarded by the red wave of feb 14th’s romantic commercialism.
So today we are setting and inviting you to set an intention with us of love and peace to send out with all of our actions. To share a positive energy with each person and sentient being we cross paths with today. And maybe tomorrow too. And then maybe the next day after that. Who knows.
Imagine the kind of love vibration that would create!
It’s a nice idea. To just remember to spread good energy everywhere, as much as possible. Yes. That might just be the ticket.

The month of February is the perfect time to take a moment and check back in with ourselves. To check in on the intentions and goals that we may or may not have set out before ourselves when 2019 began.
So take a second. Take a deep breath. And quietly ask yourself... How are you feeling about 2019 so far? Has it been everything you hoped or have you fallen short in a couple places that you promised yourself you wouldn’t?
Then sit with your answers and reflect quietly, honestly, and with as little judgement as possible.
Taking this moment allows an opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of where our strengths and weaknesses lie. If our daily actions and habits are in line with our values. If our priorities are consistent and managed properly or just a wavering weather station. Reflection like this is a crucial component to personal self growth.
No matter where you are, good or bad, within this self awareness... you are exactly where you need to be.
The two of us are constantly having to pick ourselves back up. Throughout our journey it happens so often that we have come to realize that picking yourself back up IS THE JOURNEY itself. Your ability to make this decision defines your tomorrow, your strength, your success and failures, and shapes the rest of your world completely.
So ask yourself... is there anything you have surrendered so far this 2019.
If you answered yes, then the job is already half done.

Toughest part: access to healthy food.
Through our constant travel, fueling ourselves with healthy, “high frequency” food is the most crucial aspect in maintaining our health and peaceful state of mind.
It’s easy when you can just go to a grocery store or ideally a local market and stock up on all your wonderful healthy plant based goodness needs. However, it’s a little different on the road Have you seen what planes pass off for nourishment these days?! Or the options when you pull off the highway and need a snack? Madness.
Back pain, sciatica, pinched nerves, pulled muscles, the list can go on and on. Seemingly small ailments from afar, but once any of them grabs a hold of you, your simple day to day life is so difficult until healed.
A few years ago I (Mark) suffered from a pretty terrible back herniation which triggered an extreme case of sciatica. It lead the two of us together down a long road of rehabilitation, healing, and constantly scrambling to find even the slightest temporary relief.
My specific situation, not unlike all healing, was a long and lonely road to travel and no matter how much I wished, there was never an immediate solution. I think that is the key to always remember no matter what needs healing- emotional, physical, or spiritual- it’s not going to come easy so patience & understanding will always be your most valuable tools.
We learned so much about the human body, finding positive purpose through bad experience, and the fragility and strength of these miracle machines we exist inside every day. I also learned to now empathize deeply with others in chronic pain. It’s terrible. And even just a hug or a kind word or companionship can help. I learned that because Juliana was my hero through it all and I don’t know how i could have made it without her. She was my oxygen.
Today we posted a Yoga class in hopes of sharing some of the exercises we found that were crucial parts of my path. Both in achieving daily relief and the healing process as a whole. It’s our humble offering to anyone who can find a purpose for it. Whether you have a tight back or hamstrings, sore muscles, disk issues, or sciatica like i did... hopefully there is something in there that can help you.
But take it slow. And listen to your body. Because when it’s hurting we have to always remember... It calls the fucking shots. ;)

I often see them in my dreams. White beautiful stallions running wild and free into an unknown.
Since I was a young girl I’ve always felt a deep connection to horses. Perhaps it’s because I came into this world during the year of the horse. All my life I have felt it. A connection between these incredible creatures and the “wild woman” in me.
When I look into their eyes I feel something that I can never seem to put into words properly... a truth.
An understanding. A peace.
The horse is my spirit animal.
Reflecting my traits.
Guiding my hand.
Do you feel a similar energy to a specific animal? Perhaps it’s always been there but it has just been misinterpreted. You just have to open up and listen. Your spirit animal will tell you.
