  • “The Markhor is species of wild goat that is native to Central Asia, Karakoram and the Himalayas. The name “Markhor” is thought to have been derived from two Persian words, “mar,” meaning snake, and “kho,r” meaning eater. This could have been either because of the goats ability to kill snakes, or its horns which could be representative of a curling snake. Today, the markhor, the national animal of Pakistan, is listed as endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.”

  • “While on a trip to Newfoundland, Canada, a yawning fox appeared from the ferns along the road to the Cape Race Lighthouse, a notable place in history where the Titanic's distress signal was first received. After snapping a few photos, the fox bolted across the road revealing that it only had three legs. It was a unique surprise in a historic place, and a friendly reminder to always have your camera ready.” 📸 + caption by Dylan Furst (@fursty)
