"Through A New Lens"
Did you know today is #worldphotographyday ? I can't imagine what my life would be like without photography and without a camera. In fact I know my life would be completely different in every way.
Prior to doing photography full time I worked in special education in a high school, and while I loved my job, photography was starting to become more exciting and interesting. 6 years ago I was hired to work on a 9 month, 90 country world tour ahead of the FIFA World Cup, that opportunity provided me a kick start into my full time photography career. And since that day, I've been enjoying life as a full time creative, a camera almost always in hand, and trying to share my vision of the world with all of you.
Unapologetically me. Usually distracted, most likely caffeinated. Surrounded by a flurry of thoughts, ideas, lists, projects and random objects. In the air and head in the clouds.
I used to be very self conscious about being so off in my own world, but then I realized that all my favourite people are ones who believed in themselves and brought their world to other people and it helped me feel much more confident in the busy, flustered, sometimes anxious but usually calm person that is me.
August through the years!
I had a look through the last 9 years of photos from August and it was nice to see some of my favourites in there. It seems August is a quieter month, possibly because I spend more time outside and trying not to get sunburnt. But I do enjoy the warm August evenings, they signal the start of autumn and cooler days. It seems like August is also a month where I work more with other artists, some of my favourites have appeared in these ones, memories that I'll always enjoy thinking of!
Which is your favourite from over the years?

"Age of Enlightenment"
It's my birthday today, a day that always fills me with a bit introspection and reflection. I like to think of it more of a new years day than a birthday. It's a chance to see how the last year in life has been and what I want to accomplish in the next.
I'm hoping the next year will be one filled with ideas, creative energy, light and positivity and good things not just for me but for all of you as well! .

"Made of Magic"
It's a special day today as it's not only Harry Potter's birthday but also the birthday of the woman who created his stories, J.K. Rowling! These stories have always been such visual inspiratons for me and I love to re-read the books or rewatch the films and get inspired all over again.
This weekend I've chosen the theme for @communitywhp_ and picked the theme "Take Flight". It's no secret that I like to be up in the air in my photos, something feels really magical about flying and floating. Here's a few of my favourites from over the years!
Growing up one of my favourite things to do was daydream. Probably at the inconvencience of my parents and teachers, but it really was my time to just be in my own mind. I loved to read stories that painted interested places and people and adventures in my imagination and those daydreams really helped me keep that imagination going to this day.
Even now as an adult one of my favourite things to do while on a flight, or a bike ride, or the middle of the day, is to just turn off all distractions and close my eyes and just let my mind conjure up a story or a photo. Almost always without fail something slowly starts to fade into view and before I know it I have something that I *have* to create! That's exactly what happened with this image!
"Bending The Line"
I've had this idea in my head for a while but kept putting it off, when I saw @kutovakika has chosen 'bending the rules' for this weekend's #communitywhp I was excited to try it out!
I like to think that photography and art is all about bending the rules. At least mine is about blurring the lines between the real word and the make believe and stepping between the two as often as possible.
