  • As a 90’s baby, I grew up watching Kobe💛💜 I was 9 years old when he entered the NBA and two years later I picked up a basketball for the first time ever and fell in love with the game🏀To those that really know me, you know I would spent countless hours in the gym and damn near everyday at Harbourfront Community Centre practicing, playing and watching basketball. For many of us who grew up together, I would hear them shout “Kobe” when they made a shot, or “Ivy” when they crossed someone up. We would stay wayyy past closing time just to watch the games and get our butts kicked out just so we wouldn’t miss a single game. We didn’t have to know Kobe personally to feel his presence and or be connected to him. We grew up as kids watching him, as we grew into adults, we began to admire him for how he was off the court the too. A husband, father, friend, brother. Kobe‘s passing is a tough reminder that life is short. But it’s also a reminder of his Mamba Mentality and that “Failure is never an option”... I will forever be grateful for the friendships and connections I made through basketball, and the many lessons it taught me. Basketball will always be my first love ❣️✨| ღ .
