Today in London I attended my first annual general meeting since being elected an associate member of the @royalinstituteofoilpainters
I had a great time learning about behind the scenes of this outstanding society and can't wait to really get myself plugged into the life of this group. There's lots of exciting things to be revealed over the coming months and it's such a privilege to be a part of it.
As always, I tried my best to make the most of my visit to London and took my paints and sketchbook along with me.
I decided to paint before the ROI meeting in #trafalgarsquare .....the place is so alive with human activity, noise from people/ traffic/aircraft, quite a shock to the system for this country boy!
I'd positioned myself in a fairly quiet spot, until the huge piece of machinery(which I hadn't spotted right next to me!) started to hammer and drill at the same time, it made my skull rattle.
As well as this, the environmental protests also kicked off! 😂 In a strange way I felt very much part of it painting the natural light.
Massive thanks to all the guys in the ROI for making me feel so welcome today!
