Used @eatbanza chickpea pasta because it’s packed with more protein + fiber than regular pasta. It keeps me full longer and it’s gluten free! There are so many great chickpea pastas out there now, you can find different brands at lots of stores. It makes me so happy to see health food products becoming more mainstream. I spent most of my life in rural areas where we didn’t have lots of options for grocery stores so seeing health food products be in stores like Walmart and Aldi makes me so happy! A random side note but just a cool thing that’s happening. Anyways, hope you guys have a great evening and enjoy this recipe! ❤️❤️ -

#heathfood details 👉🏻 You’ll want to soak 1/2 cup cashews overnight so they’re easier to blend. The recipe is: 
1/2 cup soaked raw cashews + 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (you can add more for a thinner sauce but start with this and add as you go) + 1/4 cup pumpkin + 1 tsp garlic + 1 tsp cinnamon + 1/2 tsp black pepper + sprinkle of salt to taste. Mix it all together in a food processor or blender. I’ve found the food processor makes it into a better sauce than the blender but both work. Served over @eatbanza chickpea pasta with sautéed kale and @traderjoes everyday seasoning #plantbased #eeeeeats #choosingbalance

Coconut Pistachio Oats 👆🏻
Soak 40g oats in 120ml boiling water for 10 mins. Now heat on the hob with 80-100ml pistachio milk + 1 tsp cinnamon until creamy. Stir in 1 scoop vanilla protein + 2 tsp coconut flour + 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice almond butter until smooooth. Top with 1 tbsp almond yoghurt + 1 tbsp almond butter + 1 tbsp cacao nibs and fruit e.g. figs, persimmon, berries plus some mint chocolate protein bar (amazing flavour of the month from @eatvive ) and protein crispies!

  • My son currently has a throat infection and it’s been a long old day and night. When your little one is fighting a cold, food is usually the last thing on their mind. I always used to stress out about food when my little guy had a cold but this is what I find works for us now; I incorporate all of the above and for the first couple of days I stick to offering small, frequent snacks until his appetite builds back up.

➡️ Hydrating fruit - hydration is the most important thing to ensure when your little one is sick.

➡️ Honey - contains high antibacterial properties & antimicrobial compounds to suppress coughs and boosts the immune system. My son isn’t so keen on honey but now he’s 2, I explain its medicine for when he is poorly ⭐️(no honey for under 1’s)⭐️.

➡️ Turmeric - one of the best known spices for fighting colds.

.
➡️ Ginger - superb for inflammation.
.
.
➡️ Garlic - immune boosting and has been used to help fight colds for centuries.

➡️ Vitamin C - much needed with colds. I actually always used to reach for oranges but broccoli, bell peppers strawberries are also a superb source of Vit C.

➡️ Healthy Fat - high calorie, good fats are a great option as most kids lose their appetite.

. ➡️ Protein - nuts and seeds work well for us and chickpea pasta id always my go to. I break the nuts into smaller pieces for my son but for younger ones you can grind them and add the nut powder to other food. Hemp hearts are also a great source of protein. ⭐️ no whole nuts or seeds for under 5’s⭐️. .

  • Paleo Single Serving Apple Crisp 🍎 Cancel any plans you had to make anything else tonight and make this ASAP because it’s so tasty! Immediately after I took the first bite, I regretted not making it regular size 😅 But luckily this single serving size is ready in about 15 minutes so it won’t be hard to recreate another. -

Last week it was a pumpkin kick, this week it’s cinnamon apples. I’ve been craving all the cinnamon apple recipes and this one was magical. Soft, cinnamon apples topped with a crumbly, almond flour based topping. A little piece of heaven on earth! Perfect breakfast or dessert. -

#recipe details 👉🏻 Preheat oven to 350F 
Heat a skillet over low medium heat. 
Dice 1 apple and add to a skillet with a little coconut oil + cinnamon. Sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes. 
Grease a small ramekin or baking dish, add the apples to it. 
In a small bowl, mix together the crumble: 
2 tbsp almond flour 
1 tsp maple syrup 
1 tsp coconut oil 
1 tsp coconut sugar* optional but I wanted mine to taste sweeter like a dessert. 
Mix the crumble ingredients together then sprinkle over the sautéed apples. 
Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350.
