A mezcal take on Old Fashioned, named Theobroma with Gracias a Dios @graciasadiosmezcal.
Credit: @thetipsymuse 🤚
Theobroma refers to a prized flowering plant, containing Greek roots that translate to "food of the gods." And according to the early Mexican myth, mezcal was reverentially referred to as the "elixir of the gods.
In this Old Fashioned, Sam Jimenez @samjmx paired mezcal with strong cold brew coffee with a touch of Aztec chocolate bitters. I have made this drink several times at home, such an easy yet potent sipper from Shaker and Spoon October box @shakerandspoon.
Theobroma: Gracias a Dios Mezcal, cold brew coffee, agave syrup, more than four dashes of Aztec Chocolate Bitters and Orange Bitters. Garnish with dried orange crisp and cocoa nibs.
