I asked you guys last week to ask me any questions that came to mind and I would use these as my captions for the next week. Here we go!
//
I’m actually really excited to answer this question because it’s something I get asked often and have never taken the time to write out.
//
About 3 years ago I went on my first content trip to Exuma with my cousin @tracykomlos as she was just starting @pangeadreams. I had no idea what creating branded content meant but I was really excited to see what it was all about. We had a blast and I fell in love with the creation process.
//
After the trip we went to Bali and this time @lisahomsy came along. We had so much fun and it really made me more interested in becoming a content creator. We took so many pictures on that trip, mostly on an iPhone, and I posted Bali pictures everyday for months! I think some people thought at the time that I had moved there.
//
Bali repost accounts started picking up my content and I started to notice a huge amount of growth. I had probably just passed 10,000 followers by this point.
//
When I got home I started reaching out to brands I really loved to see if they would send me free product in exchange for posts. I got some yes’s, some no’s and a lot of no responses! I was just excited about the opportunity to create.
//
As I grew I started being able to charge for sponsored content and eventually after a year an a half of hard work I got my first paid travel job. This meant all of my expenses were taken care of as well as compensated for posting and doing stories.
//
I was over the moon! I couldn’t believe that getting paid to travel would be possible but I was so happy it was. Now this isn’t to say all of my trips are like this. Some are unpaid but expenses covered and some are completely unpaid where it all comes out of my pocket.
//
