Welcome to Houten!
And welcome to day six - the last day of our (@theolator & @lennart) takeover!
If the trip through the Netherlands taught us one thing, then it was that they have some great housing ideas. In Houten, we stumbled upon those colorful huts breaking the common style of living a bit. The architect put the traditional look of Dutch houses into a modern dress.
We hope you’ve enjoyed the takeover! If you do, feel free to check out our private accounts @lennart and @theolator for more content.

Welcome to Zaandam!
And welcome to day five of our (@theolator & @lennart) takeover! After admiring the tulips fields of Lisse, we went to Zaandan and found a pretty spectacular hotel. It looked like stacked Dutch houses, sort of randomly put together. My first association with this hotel was LEGO. I’m glad, we brought our wide angle lenses, otherwise it would have been hard to capture this colorful colossus.

Welcome to Kinderdijk!
And welcome to day four of our (@theolator & @lennart) takeover! Never have we seen so many windmills in one place. You can find a total of 19 windmills from the 18th century in Kinderdijk. Unfortunately, we weren’t too lucky with the weather - the sun actually rises aligned with the river and when there is no wind you get a reflection of the windmills in it. Anyway, the dark clouds and the choppy water haven’t hurt the idyllic atmosphere of this place too much, if you ask me.

“Welcome to Hallerbos!
And welcome to day two of our (@lennart’s & @theolator’s) takeover. This series was taken on our second stop in Belgium, a forest called Hallerbos. While it’s a beautiful forest all year along, it really comes alive during spring every year. For about two weeks the forest’s floor turns into a sea of color thanks to the bloom of millions of blue bells.

It was the first time for me to see the desert elephants.
They are a little smaller than the ones living in the savannah and cross wider distances always in search of food and water. Also they developed special skills, they are less destructive to their environment and they can stand on their back legs to get the last leaves of the so much higher trees in the desert. Impressive to see how these big animals manage to survive such an extreme area.
