The polychromatic descent from Ringrose Peak is one I'll never forget.
Part of my strong desire to climb the mountain stemmed from the fact that it stands at the head of both the Opabin and Oesa valleys, thus offering panoramic views of the entire Lake O'Hara area. I was not disappointed. The weather played nice that day and the colours were as vibrant as they get. So surreal to see Jesse descending in front of me, with endless peaks and lakes in the background.

The Fall colours are starting to appear and larch trees will soon be at their very best here in Banff National Park.
One of my favorite times to shoot the Rockies as the landscape transforms into a sea of gold.
If you're looking for some autumn gold inspiration, I've rounded up some of my favourite larch images in my latest blog post. You'll find the link in my bio. 🙂

In just two months another crew of photographers will be joining me for the Banff at Night: Introduction to Astrophotography workshop! ✨ We still have a few spots left! 👉 Link in my bio.
This might be my last astro workshop for a while, so if you've been contemplating taking it, I'd snag a spot on this one if you can!

Just wrapped up an amazing workshop here in Greenland! Thanks to everyone involved - it was an unforgettable few days.
I'll be starting the long journey back to the Rockies soon, but first: a few days of exploration and camping on the Greenland icecap with my fellow trip leaders! Excited to see what we'll find this year in this incredible world of ice!

"Cosmic Village" ✨
This is the type of incredible night display you can expect on a dark night in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. An astrophotographer's paradise in some of the most remote desert country on Earth.
I can't tell you how excited I am to return to Mongolia for two great events in 2021. Send me a message if you're interested in shooting alongside me. 🙂🇲🇳

Having a grand time here in Greenland. We've been exploring the icefjord during the day and shooting aurora at night. As you can imagine, not much time to edit but here's a quick self-portrait taken close to our hotel in Ilulissat!
Today's program on the workshop: portrait sessions, boat tours and a ship graveyard!
I have marvelled at Mount Temple from many angles now, but this is perhaps my favourite perspective, which we earned this summer after an ascent of Ringrose Peak. Judging by the summit register, not too many people get that view - 5 recorded ascents in 40 years!
