This is my other favorite car, at the time when she was still naked 🍏 This one is a pleasure to drive, and she roars even at low speeds. One day I’ll make a great video comparison of all my cars. These are yours, after all.

Palace of Versailles⠀⠀⠀
Salon de Mercure⠀⠀⠀
The Salon de Mercure is the only bedchamber on this side of the chateau. The bedroom was briefly used by Louis XIV when his room was being repaired and also for the wedding of the Duke of Bourbon. It is said that only one person ever slept here regularly, though, and that was for a very short time, indeed. ⠀
It was Louis XIV's grandson, Philip, the Duke of Anjou, who was to become Philip V, King of Spain. He occupied the space before traveling to Spain for the first time. There is a portrait of him in the Salon de l'Abondance, across from his older brother, the Duke of Burgundy. It is interesting how Philip became King of Spain but I'll save that story for another time.⠀
Since no one officially slept there, the bed was put away at winter time to allow for more space to party and gamble. The bed that is now at display in the Mercury salon is the one that Louis-Philippe placed there when he transformed Versailles from a royal residence to a museum. ⠀
