LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST
As our #IMadeYourROWDY campaign comes to a close, we would like to introduce to you the man who made the original ROWDY bag, Teddy.
Teddy is the warmest soul (much like his name evokes), a dedicated worker and very creative. Here is a little bit about him:
‘Hello! My name is Teddy. I started officially working for ROWDY in 2017, but I actually made the original ROWDY rucksack sample in 2009! Now I work as a machinist. My favourite thing about ROWDY is that everyone is like brothers and sisters. I love the outdoors, but also design my own leather bags at home.’
We hope you have enjoyed us introducing you to the makers behind your bags at ROWDY?
We’ll be ending off this campaign with the launch of something very new and exciting - keep your eyes 👀 up front within the next two weeks to see what’s next!

Using leather indigenous to Africa, paired with clean and classic designs, the skins used in the manufacturing of our bags are by-products of the meat industry, where every part of the animal is used. We do not use skins from animals which are farmed for that sole purpose.
This is also why the notion of waste limitation is constantly at the forefront of our design process, which is why we offer smaller mix-and-match accessories such as our travel pouch.
All our products are handcrafted in our workshop in Cape Town, by our talented team of 17 machinists. 🛠

Our ROWDY Rucksack is iconic. Well, for us anyway. Why?
The entire ROWDY brand started with the humble rucksack. Originally built on providing beautiful and affordable leather rucksacks to local students, ROWDY's mission has evolved to make a focused range of practically designed and quality leather bags that encourage thoughtful consumption and sustainable living while empowering our talented machinists who hand-make each and every piece.
