Another #TSU homecoming tailgate is in the books! It's actually my favorite part of homecoming weekend and even though it rained a little, we still showed out and had a good time!! I went to a PWI but I love the HBCU homecoming experience. Did you attend a HBCU or a PWI?

as i am celebrating my naturalversary, i wanted to share with you guys my transitional collages that i make to measure my hair growth. i do this to motivate myself and to also track how much my hair is growing. if my hair is growing at a constant rate and i’m not seeing shedding/breakage, this means i’m retaining my length. make sure you are taking pictures of your hair at least once a month so that you can see how fast/if your hair is growing! .

Last winter, I got scissor happy. I was literally just cutting off ANY damaged ends because I was tired of seeing them. The front of my hair got it worse because of leave-outs for weave & etc. I could NOT wait for it to grow back. As you can see in the photos, my hair was a mess! LOL. I had damaged ends everywhere. .
Fast forward to NOW! My hair has grew back in the front but it still hasn’t caught up to the rest of my hair yet. This makes it hard to style sometimes but at least I know I have no more damaged ends! I’d rather have HEALTHY hair over LONG hair any day.

I'm Summer Walker levels of over it and I have been keeping my hair in these braids for 2 weeks. I am trimming my hair next weekend so I'm excited for that (I love cutting my hair😘🤩). My hair is so thin that my braid look like minis.
October 18, 2019 made two years that i took a leap of faith and really started my natural hair journey. i had no clue about how to take care of my textured hair lol i didn’t know anything about deep conditioning, detangling, trims, or styling! but i took it upon myself to learn bc being natural was something that i had wanted for so long! all in all it was the best decision, by far, i’ve never made for my hair! I don’t see myself ever getting my hair relaxed again (bc i never say, never). I’ve learned so much about not only myself, but also about my hair. ive grown to love myself differently since converting to my natural hair state. being able to walk around with my puff, fro, or curls that some people don’t understand, gave me a different type of confidence as a black woman in America. there’s no better feeling then being yourself (inside and out), unapologetically. the journey was not easy but seeing the fruits of my labor is rewarding and it motivates me to continue to care for my hair. lastly, being able to share my journey, tips and hairstyles with you all make this experience even better! my sincere hope is that i inspire you all to feel similarly. 🤗
HAPPY NATURALVERSARY TO ME! 💗
