  • It is bedtime & bilby books for our little ones! 💕 We hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter!
Thank you to everyone for your support & in helping Bilby conservation this Easter. In particular, thanks to those who have purchased bilbies & to the amazing stores who have stocked them. It really does make a difference for the future of Bilbies in Australia 👍
Many thanks to those we have collaborated with - in particular to Maggie & Ming from @deva_cacao, an amazingly ethical company producing some the best raw chocolate in Australia. And special thanks to the talented Alyson from @alykatcreative who did the stunning artwork on our packaging. Lastly to the @savethebilbyfund
for the dedication and important work they are doing to save the Bilby - we appreciate everything that you do! (remember don't let Easter stop you from donating to & supporting this fantastic organisation!)
Thanks again & Happy Easter! ✌️🎉💕

  • No Easter bunnies here but how about an Easter Juvenile Brushtail Possum? How freaking cute is this little one?! ❤️ We were actually outside watching a little Ringtail Possum who had thrown itself noisily, and I do mean noisily, even the dogs were like, "WTF was that?", from our roof into our camellia bushes to feast on the tasty, tasty flowers.

This ringtail must be the one that lives in the little roof space at the front of the house. It's a tight squeeze and the iron sheeting is lifted up there, just a little, pulled out of shape just enough for a little fluffy nocturnal marsupial to fit in and out of and as we pull up just on dusk there's sometimes a ringtail shaped silhouette sitting on the roof, looking out, planning it's foray into the night, the stars just starting to glimmer behind it.
So while the ringtail was munching away on the fuchsia pink flowers I hear another sound behind us, a heavier, less delicate shall we say, sound from behind us. Anyone who has both Ringtails and Brushtails on the roof will know what I mean. We turn around to find this lovely young possum at the back of the house. Possums out the front, possums out the back! I assume this possum belongs to the tail that has been dangling from out of our garage door recently, next to the one belonging to its mother. The adult is used to me going and giving its tail a hello pat and if a foot also happens to be hanging alongside it, giving that a bit of a tickle also. But the baby is still getting used to me and usually pulls its tail up and into the relative safety of the garage as soon as it hears my, "Awwwwwwwwwwww, sooooooo cuuuuuttttteeeee." 😂😂😂 We've had four possums all living in various parts of the garage at once at one point which is kind of odd as they are quite territorial. But our most permanent garage resident I identified by the notch missing from her right ear so of course I imaginatively named her Notch. And then, when she had her first baby, I named it Notch-ling. And then once that one dispersed and she had another joey, I um, called that one Notch-ling-ling. So, if this one is who I think it is, it will be Notch-ling-ling-ling. ⬅️SWIPE
