  • Wow! Some days I have no idea what’s going on in my life, 😩 and other days I find myself in the least likeliest of places! 🤷🏿‍♀️ Yesterday it was at the @blackwomeninmedia Conference in Times Square! I’ve been covering the event for @belmonique (go watch their IG stories) along with, BÈL Digital Editor @laurao_tv. 😍 Tonight, we’re covering the Black Women in Media Awards Ceremony! I’m among a lot of greats, and Lord knows I didn’t plan to be here. Nonetheless, I’m grateful! GOD IS INDEED GOOD!!!#Blessed 🙌🏾💓🙏🏿💎✨ .
Shoutout to my cuz @bien_fait_char for picking this skirt out! 😩 I rarely wear red, but tonight it’s so fitting.

This is what Baptist ministers look like. 🙌🏼🔥 I woke up this morning grateful.

I’m 38; I’m doing what I love—teaching and writing—and I am surrounded by communities who support this work. I have privilege. With privilege comes responsibility.

Many of our Baptist sisters are not supported nor recognized for their gifts and service in ministry. They spend long hours leading, teaching, guiding, and nurturing a universal Church in great need and mid-shift. Yet, they remain largely underrepresented in church leadership.

I’m grateful for my Clergy-Sisters Rev. Dr. Andrea Dellinger Jones, Pastor at Millbrook Baptist Church, Raleigh, and Rev. Ka’thy Gore Chappel, ED of @bwimnorthcarolina —who are working hard to lift our Sisters in their ministries.
You can help, too.

Follow @bwimnorthcarolina, ask your congregation to support and contribute to to their ministry.
