  • Okay, so my newest #bookstagrammerproblem is that I'm obsessed with these pin hoop, but I just CAN'T bring myself to put pins on them because... I'm going to damage the fabric?? 😂😂 This gorgeous one is from @readwritedesign_shop of course, and you can use my code FRECKLED15 to save 😍 there are also some AMAZING new designs coming out soon, and I'm fangirling so hard over them 😱😱
.
Btw, this hoop is placed over my 2019 tbr list I made in January. Even though I've read 65 books up to now, probably half of them weren't on this list 😂😂 oooopsie
.
QOTD : HOW ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR ORIGINAL 2019 TBR? and for those who didn't make one, tell me what you did this weekend 😍 (as I mentioned last week, I spent the whole weekend babysitting (also why I was absent on IG) and I'm so drained 😴 ahaha)

  • Morning or Night Bird? If you’ve read ACOTAR, do you know your Court?
.
Happy Monday, Bookbirds! I am currently at the doctor again, hopefully finding out some results regarding my health. I’m at the point where I just kind of hope I have what they think I have in order to finally move forward out of the unknown, you know?
.
Anyway, to lighten the mood, I’m a Morning Bird which also brings me to say I believe I belong to the Dawn Court! I know I’m in the minority there, but I love mornings and I love getting up early before everyone else does. It’s just so cool and quiet and perfect for my introverted self to find some peace!

  • Who are some authors that you respect for their work and media presence?
Earlier this year when my friends and I were discussing Nora Roberts, for clarification one of them said, “THE Nora Roberts?” And we were like “yeah, THE Nora Roberts”. When you’re a NYT best seller with 215 novels out, you basically get legend status. haha. .
🌄
Having said that, Nora Roberts has always been out of my regular reading genres. Even though I’ve always known of her, I’ve never read her books. (Same with Stephen King. I’m too terrified to read him, but I talk about him like we know each other.) From that same conversation with friends earlier this year, I had told myself that I would read one of her books this year to support her for being such a class act online. I received this book as a surprise mailing last week and figured this was my chance. Thank you to @stmartinspress for gifting this book to me and giving me a chance to support Nora Roberts, even though she doesn’t really need it. haha. I feel like it was kind of fate too, since this one is set in North Carolina (my family lives there and I lived there for awhile) and I love reading books based on places I can really envision. .
🌄
Synopsis:
Zane Bigelow grew up in a beautiful, perfectly kept house in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Strangers―and even Zane’s own aunt across the lake―see his parents as a successful surgeon and his stylish wife, making appearances at their children’s ballet recitals and baseball games. Only Zane and his sister know the truth, until one brutal night finally reveals cracks in the facade, and Zane escapes for college without a thought of looking back...Years later, Zane returns to his hometown determined to reconnect with the place and people that mean so much to him, despite the painful memories. As he resumes life in the colorful town, he meets a gifted landscape artist named Darby, who is on the run from ghosts of her own.  Together they will have to teach each other what it means to face the past, and stand up for the ones they love .

⇢ How was your weekend? Read any good books?
.
.
Yesterday my family went to Little Italy in Cleveland for the Italian Fest! It was so much fun, and we ate so much food. And of course I couldn’t not take pictures 😂

Anyways I finished Goblet of Fire last night...I was actually emotional when the one character I won’t mention died (you never know who hasn’t read the books.) The scene choked me up.

The review is going up on my blog in hald an hour! I’m hoping to film Prisoner of Azkaban as well as Goblet of Fire’s reviews for my booktube channel soon! They should be up in September 👌🏼 I spent my whole morning at the vet’s office. Kent needed his heart worm shot and his nails clipped. The wellness check alone was $50! All he did was check his heart and pat him on the back 😒

Oh well, I’m hoping to start one or maybe all three books listed below today! Hope everyone is having a great monday!

I love you all and stay amazing!!! ❤️💜

  • Neel Mukherjee’s “The Lives of Others” is an ambitious, sprawling family saga chronicling three generations of the Ghoshes—a large, wealthy Bengali family struggling to sustain its affluence in the face of sweeping historical changes. Largely set in late 1960s Calcutta, it travels back extensively to trace the history of the family’s shifting fortunes: through the British Raj, the Second World War, the Bengal famine, Indian independence, and partition from East Pakistan. The backstories contextualise domestic power struggles, emanating from petty rivalries to incestuous coprophilia, while present-day events portray an expansive breadth of bourgeois Bengali life, with luxuriant descriptions of food, Durga Puja festivities, wedding rituals, sarees and jewellery, Tagore poetry, literary addas, and eccentric professors. These run parallel to an epistolary account of the experiences of the eldest grandson, who leaves home to join the Naxalbari uprising—an armed peasant revolt in the villages and tribal districts of Bengal. The two strands eventually converge to animate the simmering conflict at the heart of the novel: class warfare.

Mukherjee writes from a place of deep familiarity and scholarship: his attention to detail is scrupulous; and his characters, uniformly unlikeable, even stereotypical, are always credible. He demonstrates remarkable skill in controlling a story of such magnitude—it never turns unwieldy, despite some indulgent backstories adding little to the narrative but length. His prose for the most part is staid: poignant in some of the final chapters, but also often bogged down by needlessly convoluted sentences. It is most effective in the crisp first-person voice of the young Maoist revolutionary—his letters describing backbreaking farm labour, unrelenting rural distress, and the natural beauty of the countryside radiate with idealism and clarity, even as he battles against the stubborn endurance of social identity, and the inviolable chasm between the self and the other. In the end, this powerful, accomplished novel leaves you with the hard-hitting question of just how much you are willing to forgo for a cause you know in your bones to be true.

  • Abgebrochen![Werbung]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Ich hab in letzter Zeit kein so guten Händchen.

If you could spend your next day in a fictional world, which would you choose?

Going for a top three is fair, you don't have to choose just one :D

It might sound boring but I would definitely choose the Wizarding World, or Narnia, or of course Middle Earth! I would love to be among wide open plains, deep forests, magical creatures and mysterious castles - and all of these worlds would fit 💛

  • So today I downloaded a more original version of the two first book ideas I ever came up with, converged into one series and here is book 1. Usually I don't like what I read but I was quite happy when reading this prologue (which is not in the POV of the main 2 characters). It also has the most fill to it and a LOT more storyline and details that my over books. This book has just over 89 thousand words and 187 A4 size pages. It has so much potential and I will be working on it to hopefully get it out into the world first. Also, the name of the book is an older version and very similar to the current one, but now I'm thinking that I might just leave it the way it is. Enjoy reading what you can of the prologue!

  • I was very excited to jump back into the Renegades universe with Archenemies.👊🏼 The first half of the book was a little slow for my taste, but Marissa Meyer was still able to hook me and leave me waiting more. As an admitted lover of femme fatales, Nova is such an interesting character to me. 🌚 She is B.A. and conflicted. What more than one want from a protagonist? ✨

  • Happy Monday! ⠀⠀
Monday’s can be the worst day of the week but you can begin on a good note by picking up a a great read.
On my long commutes to work I usually pop on an audiobook or a Podcast.
This past week I’ve had the pleasure to be accompanied by two of the funniest people who roam this planet.
I highly recommend listening to these two lovebirds share their amazing and hilarious love story.

  • DIA NACIONAL DO ORGULHO LÉSBICO
.
Recomendo a leitura!
.
Me contem, já leram algum? O que acharam?
.

.
Todays Bookstory is:...Edinburgh Love Stories, aka 4 Kurzgeschichten von Samantha Young 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 .
👗King‘s Way🇦🇺
(Einzelband)
