The navy/grey HyperKo (Nike) is my fourth pair that I own now and for good reason. It's my favourite boxing boot. There are the other variants like the Machomai and KOs but the HyperKo's have better aesthetics, functionality, durability and practicality, they are pricey though around 270.
I've sourced pretty much all my boots from the mma fight store over the past 3 years. Always love coming in, it's honestly an experience because i love fight gear (they got winnings now too 😍). Damien, Liam, Bii, Clay and Rick are good guys, down to earth and always happy to chat. Liam has also started training at Collingwood and it's been a pleasure to help with his boxing
Aethetics - the colour designs are unbeatable in my opinion if you like the double combination of colours. They are based of the Manny Pacquiao design which is still used by a large majority of Boxers since its release in 2013. In fact the basis for me buying more shoe is to colour coordinate with my boxing gear 😅 👟
Functionality & Durability - The HyperKo improves on the Machomai (its base model) and provides greater stability from the fly wires weaving and strap on top the metatarsal region which provides all round stability for heavy footwork 👌. My first pair still is used on a weekly basis after 6 years and is noticeably worn now (but still good!). It's excellent for heavy footwork based users, providing good arch support but minimal ankle support (you don't need it if you train ankle stability adequately 💯). The traction on the shoes are superb as well, and has aged extremely well.
Practicality - At the gym I leave about 4 pairs of boxing shoes (Machomai, HyperKo, Addias Pro Bout and Asics Matflex) so I don't have to carry any in. The HyperKo is used atleast twice a week, 🏆 it's easy to lace and unlace, and works well in the ring as well as on slippery hardwood floors. It's a great shoe.
