When you put it this way you really see how big of an effect humans have had in such little of a time frame, was it inevitable?

#biambiental#educaçãoambiental#fauna#conservation#instagram#nature#animalplanet#discover#job#saveourplanet#forest#eco#bio#instaanimal#amazonia#meioambiente#environment#earth#bbc#natureza#natgeo#wildlife#direitoambiental#repost
In winter, when it’s cold outside, a geothermal system operates in reverse. The liquid in its pipes is heated by the earth and that heat is then extracted by the heat pumps to heat the air flowing into your ductwork. It’s a pretty simple idea, although a geothermal installation requires considerable expertise if it’s to be done properly.⠀
It is likely that users of geothermal will reduce their heating costs 40% to 70% and cooling costs 20% to 50% when compared to conventional systems. To find out more, e-mail us at email@example.com!

My job brings me great joy. Our trips are in a wilderness setting and we are the only ones on this massive hunk of ice. This isn’t your crowded park. This is backcountry Alaska. And together with my guests, we go to a world I love, where I feel at home, where I can offer them something that can’t really be priced. This experience will stay with you forever and every day out there I’m grateful to take people on that adventure. It really is incredible. This guy was a beast, he climbed six burly pitches. @ascendingpath 😌🤙
🚨 WARNING 🚨
Please place stickers on ur glass doors to avoid walking into them. The Norwex Enviro & Window Cloth work so well lots of people are complaining they can’t see when their glass doors are closed. To avoid a fractured nose or flat face plz take the necessary precautions when using these cloths.
If anyone is wondering if this lady is okay, she is, she just suffered a sore head from the bang & she still loves her Norwex! 😂
To order or book a fun Norwex party just DM me, otherwise you can also order from my website link in my bio 💗
Cling wraps are now a thing of the past. Need to cover your leftovers? Use the natural beeswax food wraps instead! Not only can they be used over and over again, they are made of natural beeswax which biodegrades unlike the plastic in cling wraps.

#brasil#rondonia#amazonia#portovelho#amazon#fire#highway#selva#meioambiente#floresta#forest#forestfire#fuego#feu#feuer#environment

The AMAZON is burning and no one is talking about it.
Why? Because it’s not PROFITABLE to talk about something like this.
Deforestation is a HUGE issue in Brasil and the president has fired people who have collected environmental data since he’s been in office since January. There’s been an 88% increase in Amazonian deforestation since he’s been in office.
Deforestation in Brasil is done for farming purposes ...aka PROFIT for the meat (mainly) industry.
Scientists have confirmed that the climate in the Amazon has NOT been different this year, and assume that these fires were not started naturally.
This summer is officially one of the hottest in recorded history. In the 140 years of recorded temperatures, this June was the hottest June ever recorded. The nearly unprecedented heat of June continued into July; July of 2019 was both the hottest July and the hottest overall month ever recorded. July was 1.71 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the average temperature for the month, while June was 0.71 degrees fahrenheit hotter than its average.
The intensity of this change in temperature was prominent in countries across the world. France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, and Luxembourg endured the hottest recorded day in each of their nations’ histories. Arctic and Antarctic sea ice were reduced to historic lows as well, while the whole continent of Africa experienced its hottest recorded month. Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the Arctic all experienced unprecedented heat.
By looking at these tangible factors, like ice loss and temperature increase, it is easy to see the implications and impacts of climate change. The climate crisis is not in the future: it’s happening right now. (Sources: CNN, NBC, & Time)
Meet Rachel Hall, She/Her/Hers, 19
She is doing research for the Chemistry department, analyzing Vietnamese herbal medicines that can be used as alternatives to end the practice of bear bile farming, and continuing the work of EnviroLab Asia Vietnam.
Brian: Did you go to a high school that was a predominantly white institution?
Rachel: Yes, I was one of few that was not a football player because we recruited a lot from the area around us. I wasn’t really accepted by the black community because I wasn’t “black enough” for them. Most of my friends – they called us diversity groupies because they were Asian, white but not super white, and another couple black people that weren’t there for athletics.
I was used to being the one black person amongst white people, but it wasn’t a problem because we never talked about politics – until the election came.
My friend group were all crying and trying to comfort each other while some white kids would just yell at us, “Go back to where you came from.” And that was kind of tough to deal with, but closer to the end, it made us stronger.
Brian: How does your identity being black and a woman intersect?
Rachel: As a black girl, your parents prepare you to know that you’re at the bottom of every pyramid. So, you need to just work 10x harder and be 10x better at everything you do because you’re going to be put out of the running from the get-go. Everything I do, really, is trying to go at it as hard as I can.
Brian: Did you have a role model?
Rachel: My mom. She’s an empowering figure for me because she is an immigrant from Jamaica. She came to the United States at 18 with no money. She had to emancipate herself from her parents to get money to go to college. She knew nothing. She didn’t even know that racism was a thing. And then she went to school in Alabama. Everyone was just so mean to her. But she was just undeniably smart. She just couldn’t be held back, and now she’s like one of the best orthodontists in Georgia. Everyone comes to her. People are racist to her all the time at work. They leave because she’s black and a woman, but they come back because no one can do it better than her. She's too good!
Reducing our carbon footprint!!! I must admit we used plastic water bottles every day until we came across @the_kind_society 🙌🏼 seriously guys you need to check them out if you too want to reduce your carbon footprint 👣 PS. Best water bottle we’ve ever used! Our water stays cold for at least 12 hours!!! 👌🏽
This is such a peaceful video. If you turn your sound on you’ll be able to hear all of the gorgeous sounds in the background – so many different kinds of birds singing and chirping. Can you identify any of the birds in the video from their calls alone?⠀
This has been especially lovely to watch after all of the cold dreary weather we’ve been having this winter – at least here in Adelaide. But its less than two weeks now until spring starts! Are you looking forward to spring and summer too, or are you more of a winter lover? ⠀

Rent inspection coming up this week! Thought I’d share what I’m using to clean the house: white vinegar, baking soda and tea tree oil. I buy a big cardboard box of soda and store it in an old plastic tub. I buy tea tree oil when it’s 40% off at Coles or Priceline and the vinegar is $1.20 at Woolies.
I have a spray bottle with 50% water/vinegar mix and a few drops of tea tree oil. This is my household cleaner for surfaces, kitchen and bathroom.
Oven cleaner is baking soda scrubbed in, then sprayed with the above solution and wiped off.
Shower cleaner is white vinegar for the glass, wiped off with newspaper.
Tiled floors are cleaned with the same vinegar and tea tree oil plus hot water. It’s just a different ratio.
Occasionally if the shower is mouldy I will buy a bleach-based toilet cleaner, use the nozzle to get it into all the grout and tile lines, leave for an hour and then wipe off.
It’s good to know I’m not putting chemicals into my home on a day to day basis. Also we kill weeds with white vinegar and let the sun do the rest of the work!
It’s so much cheaper cleaning my house this way and better for the environment to avoid endless plastic bottles. #sahmlife#sahm#perthmums#mumhacks#budgeting#budgetmum#budgetlife#frugallife#frugal#frugalmom#cleaning#clean#cleanwithme#environmentalist#environment#sustainableliving

Sending off these baby hawksbills can be quite emotional! We nurture them in @conservationlab_bintan for 2-3 months until they are ready to waddle their way across the beach. We make sure that we don’t touch them by using coconut shells to flip them over to the beach and let them navigate their way to the ocean. Feeding them small bits of snapper fish keeps them strong and healthy for their new journey🐢🌊

Our newest addition of Mother Jungle Team, the lovely Sisi Damayanty @nduksisi, gave a presentation on behalf of @mother.jungle in Outpost Canggu. She told the audience how one of Mother Jungle's documentaries- 'Listen to the Land'- has inspired her to join the team. This short documentary shot in Simeuleu, West Aceh capturing the 'Smong' story which tells the history of 1907's tsunami there. She also pointed out her perspective on how the local wisdom and traditional knowledge from the ancestor is so important, relevant and can be applied even a century later. Welcome on board, Sisi! 😊

Happy World Snake Day! 🐍
Here’s a picture of my beautiful corn snake ❤️ Snakes are so misunderstood and have such a rich and powerful history in human mythology (in positive ways, not in the way the Old Testament twisted it to make serpents evil), as well as being crucial to our environment by keeping the rodent and other small animal populations in check. If you see a snake in the wild or in your yard, DO NOT HURT IT OR TRY TO PICK IT UP! Just leave it alone and it will leave you alone. Most snake-related injuries only occur because a human was stupid and didn’t see or respect the signs the snake was giving that it was about to strike in self defense.
