  • Nightscape by @shaneilshekhar - Nothing like a night under the stars! Kicked off my first astro shoot for the season (yes I’m late 🤷🏽‍♂️) was good to dust off some cobwebs from my star tracker get used to polar alignment again and then try the Sony Gmaster 24/1.4 which blew my mind for Astro! I definitely made the right choice 💪🏼 anyway @avi_photography and I made a last minute dash to Bouddi National Park to capture these awesome rock patterns! Might have to do it one more time as I found a spot that was just amazing. It’s hard to fit the whole shot so please watch my story for the full picture.
What location next? 🤔

I just love nights spent in the mountains when it is perfectly calm and peaceful like this. I shot this while backpacking last October during that stretch of amazing weather we had. The winds died down after sunset and this lake turned into a perfect mirror reflecting the mountain peaks and stars. By this point it was already too late in the year to view the Galactic core, but the other parts of the Milky Way are gorgeous as well. To make this image a total of 23 exposures were shot over a span of 10 minutes, stacked in Sequator for noise reduction and blended in Photoshop.

EXIF:
Sony a7S + Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8
Sky: 21 exposures, f/2.8, ISO 8000, 15 sec
Reflection: f/2.8, ISO 8000, 30 sec
Mountains: f/2.8, ISO 1600, 179 sec

  • Amazing shot by @secrett_sydneyy
"I ain't fear of standing alone"
I posted this photo on another social platform and someone commented, "I wonder how long has this tree been waiting?" My response was "Being alone isn't the problem, not living the moment is." We all serve different purpose at different times, and using this tree as an example, it provides shades for us to rest under the sun; it provides a great environment for birds to stay; it also becomes a great juxtaposition of the galaxy. From our perspective, this tree looks like it has been waiting for someone to show appreciation, but little do we know, this tree may have already served its purpose for people across centuries.

Thank you @fascinatingimagery for accompanying me during this exhausting yet fulfilling trip

Spent the sunset and night at this beautiful location yesterday.

  • Have you ever wanted to see graffiti from the 1800’s? 💙.

Accessible only by sea, the historic Mermaid Boab tree at Careening Bay was marked by colonialists during 1820 when charting the Kimberley Coast 🗺.

Lt Phillip Parker King describes how the traditional owners 🖤☀️❤ of the land lived at Careening Bay back in 1820, surrounded by abundant vegetation in sophisticated camps 🌴. .
Not much has changed with the land from then to now, especially not the presence of salt and freshwater crocs 🐊 !

  • How soothing it is to watch the waves crash over the craggy rocks along the shore 😊. Being out in nature is grounding, healing and empowering and uplifting. It’s Mother Nature that has helped me through some of the toughest times 🌞🍃💦
