UPDATE ON LACE: Delayed on posting because sometimes it’s simply too much. It’s often a roller coaster of great news, stable news and at times painful news. Still, Lacey’s bright spirit and resilience in the face of some of the worst pain and sickness in her life...Warrior Strong. 💪🏼💛 Recent Imaging shows some disease progression in and around the abdominal wall. The Good news is that its grown at a much slower rate than before her Debulking surgery in October. This could mean the current treatment is working. Also, With FHCC, there is an over-expression of B12. A year ago, we started pushing for consistent labs that included more quantitive results than the “>4000” B12 levels. Since July, we’ve been able to monitor Lacey’s B12 levels more consistently and these results look like a trend with tumor growth. If a trend, then the B12 levels that show an increase recently, followed by a recent decrease, may also mean treatment is working. Lacey has chosen to continue the current treatment regimen of Gemox/Avastine with imaging again on January 9th. She has an awesome medical team and a few additional experts monitoring her journey. We have Plan B in place here at UCLA (w/the guidance of RUSH Peds Onc), while continuing to search for her cure. January 7th, we’re off to San Francisco (consult for an upcoming trial). Tumor samples from the last surgery sent to Living Donor Transplant Surgeon in Pittsburg, City of Hope and Cornell University. We are ready if needed, to head back to Chicago with the commitment from her team at RUSH University for surgery “Tell Lacey to keep her head up! We will keep fighting!” “We are going for cure!” YOU GOT THIS LACE AND WE GOT YOU!!! 💪🏼💛 #FU2C#LaceyStrong#WarriorStrong#LaceyGrace#FibroFighters#FibroFoundation#AgouraHills#UCLAPediatricOncology #RUSHMedicalCenterPediatricOncology

Update on Lace:
Lacey decided to move back home to have the family support she needs for her medical care. She’s registered locally at Moorpark College, and will return to work in February. Lace is three weeks into her chemo regimen (GemOx/Avastine, a 6 hour Infusion every 2 weeks). Some days/and especially nights are very rough due to side effects. We do what needs to be done for her to comfortably get through those nights. When she’s feeling good , she’s having fun being a normal 18 year old sunshine self. She’s in a good proactive space with the medical team on board between RUSH, Chicago UCLA and City of Hope, coupled with Lacey’s Warrior Spirit! New Imaging is scheduled December 12th. 💛💪🏼 🌻 #LaceyStrong #FU2C#LaceyGrace#GraceAndGrit #RUSHPediatricOncology#CityOfHope#CaliforniaPainManagement #FibroFighters#FibrolamellarHepatocellularCarcinoma

What a wild ride the past month and a half has been! After one month in Chicago for Lacey’s surgery, procedures, Infusions, blood transfusion, then home to an evacuation due to wildfires. This coupled with sleepless nights, comforting Lacey through neuropathy, massaging her legs and arms to soothe her, showers to ease her pain during the night. So Grateful to be back in our home now, along with the right cocktail for her pain, adjustments in her treatment and a good medical team looking out for her both here and in Chicago. Lace is always a warrior and although Chemo is brutal, she always finds those windows; opportunities to share her radiant self. 💪🏼🌞💛 #LaceyGrace#LaceyStrong#FU2C#FibroFighter#RUSHPediatricOncology#RUSHLiverTeam#AgouraHills#CaliforniaPainMedicineCenter#FibrolamellarHepatocellularCarcinoma

Grow hair grow!! Can I get past the 12 year old boy phase please? 😂
On a positive note second pic is when I was on treatment, not one hair on my body and serious steroid moon face! It’s definitely a slow process but I will feel like me again soon! #imwinning#fu2c#ihavebrowsagain#hairprogress#faceprogress 😂

We hold the power to make the stand against #cancer for too long we've allowed it to rule our lives our loved ones lives! This is were we #standup2cancer and say no more, we say #fu2c please please donate!
I would be the first to admit I'm cold and sometime not the best person when it comes to opening up but over the past 18months 2years have been hard. Imagine having to worry if you've got to explain to your little girl if Nanny is going to be okay, nobody should. Thankfully I've not had to have this convocation!
The work that the doctors, professors and nurses do is priceless. So please donate make your donation count in giving cancer the boot.

Even warriors need rest when having Back to back medical appointments. 3 years since Diagnosis and continuing to learn more about her rare cancer; empowering and exhausting. Lacey, after meeting Yuman Fong, MD: “He was insanely knowledgeable. I have never gotten that much accurate, straight answer information about my cancer in one sitting.” #FU2C#LaceyGraceOrg#TeamLaceyGrace#CityOfHope#FibrolamellarHepatocellularCarcinoma
My body has been through so many stages, it’s crazy. I cannot believe how far I’ve come and how much I have overcome. I am so proud of myself. After 2 surgeries, 2 rounds of chemo, and still 3 months left of it; I can still say I am the healthiest and happiest I have ever been. I never cared about physical health let alone mental. With my cancer journey came depression, anxiety, and fear. I stood up to it because I knew I could find something great to come out of it, so I did. Someone knew I was a fighter, but I’m done fighting. Now it’s time to love. Now I am a lover not a fighter because I’ve been fighting my whole life. I’m done with the hardest part of my cancer journey, so I’m moving on with my life LIFE journey which includes my fitness journey and overall health. Here I am, today. Proud ass motherfucker over here. I am happy, healthy, and unbothered by the negativity. I’m forever grateful for going through what I did. Never stop believing. You can do anything you put your mind to. #FU2C#empoweredwomen#fuckwithmeyouknowigotit

"His words were like a tidal wave crashing down on my life. The word cancer was now engraved in my mind....Courage is being able to look your fear in the eye and still allow yourself to see the silver lining...I realized that I was so much more than my illness and I used my courage as motivation to keep moving forward as much as I wanted to retreat" #FU2C #AWarriorsJourney
