This whole ‘self care’ movement is super popular these days, but what are we really doing?
Getting a massage, but your mind is still spinning thinking about your to-do list? Going on a joy ride, but not even seeing the world around you because you’re so burdened by your thoughts? Putting your phone away for a few hours, but constantly wondering if you’ve received a text back? Going to the gym to unwind, but still crippled with insecurities? Just because it’s considered therapeutic doesn’t mean you’re actually ‘self care’-ing.
Self care to me is doing anything that makes me feel fulfilled or focused on getting/keeping positive mind. I could be shoveling cow shit in 120 degree heat during a rain storm, but I’d still be ‘self care’-ing it it improved my emotional/mental well-being.
Mindset is everything. Are you talking nicely to yourself? Are your thoughts centered around things you’re able to control, and not on things you’re literally incapable of changing (ie other peoples’ minds/thoughts)? Are your thoughts useful to reach your goals? Are you enjoying what you’re doing, or are you only doing it to avoid how you *think* you’ll feel/look/be perceived if you don’t do it?
Thoughts as I type this: GOSH I’ve changed. Gosh I’m so darn proud of this new way of thinking. But gosh, I’m so incredibly thankful of every millisecond of my past. Gosh I’m stressed out, but my GOSH I’m thriving. 🙏🏻

Being fit or getting exercise can be done outside the gym and you may actually enjoy these activities even more. I know I love to play sports to get in physical exercise whether it’s some basketball with friends or soccer with some kids at the park. Another way I love to get my exercise in is by walking my dog! It’s a great way to bond with my little buddy and get some cardio in 🏃♀️ 🐕 🏀 .
How do YOU fit physical exercise into your everyday life if you have no time for the gym or simply like getting your exercise in a different way? Remember that everyone’s lifestyle is different and everyone is different so by staying open minded to all forms of physical exercise, we can continue to grow even more! 🧠🙏🏽
This is my grocery list for the week! I haven’t gotten to a point where I count calories or anything. I mainly focus on the amount of sugar & protein I take in.
I only use either EVOO Or Avocado oil when I cook. i don’t deep fry any food (frankly I’m not good at it lol)
If you want to have big arms then you need to eat big and lift heavy. As they say, lift big to get big. There’s no secret behind getting heavy. It all depends upon how you train, what you eat and how much you’re willing to put in.
