I’ve worked hard for these results. I wish I could say it’s been a piece of cake 🍰 but it hasn’t. These results are due to not giving up regardless of how many times I fall💪

You guys know I struggle, I fall off the wagon, eat things I shouldn’t, give in to temptation, but no matter what I get back up and give it another try 👏

I’ve lost a total of 124 lbs though diet and exercise. I’ve had my ups and downs throughout my weight loss journey. I will say that the struggle has been 💯 worth it, but not easy.

It’s not impossible. If I can make this change, trust me, you can too! You need to set your goals, get your mind straight and don’t stop until you’re proud🙌

I know my journey isn’t the best example, but I’m glad it’s helpful 😘

Sleep is one of the most important yet underrated things that everyone needs to get enough of. Although it may sound simple in theory, it's not as easy as you might think. Here are some tips to help improve your sleep:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, you need to ensure that you have zero caffeine before bed. Caffeine can stay in your system for hours, and can disrupt your sleep cycle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do not drink water before bed, as this can wake you up seeing as you'll need to use the bathroom. Also, eating before bed can increase your blood pressure and disrupt your sleep cycle so be sure to avoid any big meals 3 hours before bed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Avoid any rigorous excercise three hours before bedtime, in order to be in a relaxed state. Try to plan your next day by writing a task list or using a schedule/planner in order to ease any stress you may have.

Research shows that people fall asleep best when it's cooler, so turn that heat down! 
Bonus: Try sleeping without a blanket, as it has been proven that people can lose calories if they shiver in their sleep.

No screens 1 hour prior to your sleep! Blue light from your phone sends your brain signals that you want to be awake. Same goes for night lamps, as the light confuses the brain and impacts the function of your melatonin hormone. This is why everything in the room should be pitch black! Finally, stay consistent with your sleep schedule. Your body becomes used to going to sleep and then waking up at a certain time, so by getting your body used to a routine, your mornings will become much more productive & enjoyable.

I bet you even the biggest guy in the gym feels like everyone is watching him too. Focus on your own journey and path in life, no matter what that may be.

For weight loss, one habit I encourage my clients to do is to get those steps up and WALK!

Yes, you can smash it in the gym for an hour and burn 300+ calories. But, what about the other hours of the day? Are you sedentary?

Making it habitual to walk to places you’d usually drive or get transport to will enhance your chances of weight loss.

Alongside this, walking can have other added advantages;

IMPROVES YOUR MOOD.

HELPS WITH MUSCLE RECOVERY.

LOWERS STRESS/ CORTISOL.

INCREASES MENTAL CLARITY.

DISSOCIATES YOU FROM HUNGER.

LOW TAXING WAY TO BURN CALORIES.

  • The best thing you can do is set yourself a goal, it could start of as something so small and then get bigger and it can be something that may excite you or even scare you. Put all your effort into it, and keep your mind focussed on it. My fitness journey has always been progressed through small goals that I set myself as stepping stones and then they get bigger and bigger!

To me going to the gym is no longer a chore, it's a choice. It is not a punishment because I've had that doughnut, that packet of crisps or just generally ate something I fancied and feel like i need to work extra hard to burn it off.⁣

It's not about making you so sore you take DAYS to recover. Exercise is about movement about discovering the amazing things you body is capable off. It's not just about physical appearance, it's about mindset, it's about the way it makes me feel. ⁣

It's about testing my limits and reaching my goals. Exercise is way more than just going to the gym. ⁣
⁣
Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, the way you think about things, your attitude and your mood.⁣
⁣
The stronger you are the better you feel, so invest in yourself and chase those endorphins because fitness isnt just about the way you look it's about feeling confident, strong, unstoppable, badass and beautiful in your OWN skin! 🖤
