If you keep firing and wiring those networks in your brain, the hardware eventually becomes the software program and making choices that are in alignment with your future becomes more automatic. When you do it enough times, as we walk as our future self this behavior becomes the habit of the new self. This is how we create new habits of thought and behavior. Then one day you naturally walk from your front door to your car as that future person—not as the unconscious programs that you normally live by.
One of the other major hurdles in this process of becoming is to teach your body to emotionally feel your future. The more you can feel the emotions of your future, the less likely you will be to live in lack and separation, because the longer we condition our body into the emotions of our future, the more we feel like that future has already happened. If you felt like your future had already happened, then you wouldn’t worry or stress, and you wouldn’t try to force, wish, or predict future outcomes. Instead, you would just know your future is coming towards you, so all you have to do is receive it when it comes knocking on your door. Staying in that energy the entire day is the work. So the work then is not just doing the mediation, getting up, starting your day and going unconscious—it’s to create a new habit where you’re unconsciously, subconsciously and automatically living in the emotions of your future.
The practice then is first doing the meditation, then understanding why you’re doing it, and finally assigning meaning to the process. If you can master this process, you’ll be able to stand in line in the bank, at the grocery store, or be stuck in traffic and be living in your future instead of going into the unconscious programs of your past. If you were more aware of who you were being in that moment, then you could actually elevate your body’s energy while you’re standing there, knowing that the more you stay in this energy, the more you draw your future to you.✨

Shiva is a paradoxical deity: "both the destroyer and the restorer, the great ascetic and the symbol of sensuality, the benevolent herdsman of souls and the wrathful avenger." In the most famous myth concerning Shiva, he saves humanity by holding in his throat the poison that churned up in the waters and threatened mankind. For this reason he is often depicted with a blue neck.
In the Vedas, shiva is an aspect of the god Rudra, not a separate god. However, a joint form Rudra-Shiva appears in early household rites, making Shiva one of the most ancient Hindu gods still worshipped today. By the 2nd century BCE, Rudra's significance began to wane and Shiva rose in popularity as a separate identity.
In the Ramayana, Shiva is a mighty and personal god, and in the Mahabharata he is the equal of Vishnu and worshipped by other gods. Shiva became associated with generation and destruction; sometimes fulfilling the role of Destroyer along with Vishnu (the Preserver) and Brahma (the Creator) and sometimes embodying all three roles within himself.
In the Mahadeva image in the Elephanta caves (on an island off of Bombay), which dates to between the 5th and 7th centuries CE, Shiva is shown in his threefold form. This triple aspect of Shiva, which has become a dominant form, is rich with symbolism:
The two faces on either side represent (apparent) opposites - male and female (ardhanari); terrifying destroyer (bhairava) and active giver of repose; mahayogi and grhasta - while the third, serene and peaceful, reconciles the two, the Supreme as the One who transcends all contradictions. The three horizontal lines Saivites mark on their foreheads represent this threefold aspect of Shiva.

Your non-negotiables are those things that keep you inspired and grounded. They are the things that we know really work for us. However, sometimes we can get away from them for some of the following reasons:
In 1 Corinthians 4:3 Paul reveals his stoic view on the opinions of others, while also sharing some of his recipe for personal progress:
3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
It’s clear to me that Paul had little time nor space in his own head for the opinions of others, neither did he entrench himself with self judgment.
It’s often we become soaked in the decoy of criticism and over-evaluation of others and one’s self. Both are most often ego driven. Certainly the assertion of right to cast a critical evaluation of another, is a clear mark of someone expending effort in avoidance and procrastination of their own personal growth.
We build walls, fences, hidden passages, lonely corridors and wasted rabbit holes, when we engage in the craft of obstacle avoidance. These structures and passages are so easily justified and inviting, while also being rigid and defined by common dead ends. Criticisms that become justifications for stagnancy or a pass at growth neither serve us nor those we could be serving.
In short: Don’t let ego and insecurity get in the way of your own personal growth.
We have today. We have right now. We may not have tomorrow. May we all spend time in our own space, with a spirit of possibility and a bias for action. May we shake off the need to control and justify. May we take personal responsibility and have reverence for the imperfections of this life as we diligently pledge our allegiance to being better tomorrow than we were today, for we have no time to spend on the fixation of others.
It’s your time! Own it. Learn from it. Live it. And, as Paul taught us, give space for it.
Life is meant to be lived in. Smile with the reassurance that our best is all that is expected. This journey of imperfection is a gift and one we can magnify as we help lighten the load of others by not shirking our own personal duty.
This past week was insightful, and I hope that by sharing a few of my favorite quotes found on my own road and journey, that they will find place on yours as I pass them along.
Filling up the birdfeeder. We break down this activity into steps so our littlest ones can participate. It shows them they can care for others and brings a quiet sense of responsibility to their day.
I demonstrated how to scoop from the bucket to the feeder, then handed over the scoop (and released my expectations) to my just-turned-two little friend. They chose to scoop a bit, but also pour and see what the seed felt like as it flowed through their hand.
We practiced sweeping up afterwards. 😆
Expectations lost is a free life won •
Poetry/journal entry: ‘potential’
Trying to meet the unexpected
with a deep embrace
That pours into me
Like sap pushing bugs from its heart
It fills the damage of any expectation
I expect nothing of you
I expect nothing from you
I expect nothing for you
Not out of cruelty
Respect of potential energy
Limitless if only I can continue to change my perspective
Imagine the delight in not expecting sunshine to ever touch you again
Happy place 💛🍁🌿🍂 Living for adventures (that are as wild as henrys hair) and are as beautifully golden as this place.
Henry's shy little smile and Jacobs excitement for another path to explore, one arm around his brother always guiding the way
Needed some fresh air today, I don't think being cooped up is helpful for colds and coughs, they need to blow away with the cobwebs and the leaaaves, and boy do these two need to have some freedom.
As long as we snuggle up warm (they had about 4 layers on)
Can't wait to use the new winter coats in a few weeks #mylittleeskimos
Spend some time this weekend looking at all those memories that trigger these feelings and ask yourself three questions: 🦋 What am I feeling? 🦋 What self-talk and thoughts fuel those feelings? 🦋 What do I believe about myself as it relates to those experiences?
