Springtime means practicing our mountain bike skills (usually dad wears a helmet and takes his own bike). The funny thing is that this was from our trip to Colorado Springs a little while back and spring was definitely in the air. Today they got over 8 inches of snow and could go sledding at this bike park.
Twenty days until we leave for the Camino. Michelle and I know we like each other. Here’s hoping we find lots of other people that we like too! 🤣 Follow our Camino on Instagram, YouTube, and CruisinwiththeColemans.com
A QUICK TOUR OF MY BACKYARD: I leave my house and drive to the Fernwood Campground (about 5,000 feet elevation )TH 4.4 miles away. It took me 8 minutes to get there in car.
Slide 1: 2.6 miles in at 8,506 feet elevation, I’m 2 hours and 10 minutes in from the TH and climbing on my skis at this point.
Slide 2&3: 3.2 miles in at 9,234 feet elevation and going for 2 hours and 39 minutes. I ski up along side chin-scraper bowl and watch the clouds roll over the mountain for a couple of minutes.
Slide 4: 3.4 miles in at 9,518 feet elevation and going for 2 hours 49 minutes, I reach the summit of Layton peak and take in this beautiful view and consider following the ridge to the peak just north of me.
Slide 5: 3.9 miles in at 3 hours 10 minutes and I’ve opted to point my skis down the mountain and my pups are in hot pursuit.
Slide 6: 4.7 miles in and back at 8,020 feet I’ve been going for 3 hours 35 minutes and I pull up once again to enjoy the beauty of my backyard and even though I’ve been in this spot many times before, I pinch myself to make sure I haven’t hit my head on a rock in one of my falls and gone to heaven. An hour later I’m home and feeding these pups dinner.
Yesterday was probably one of the most physically challenging days for me. Drew and I decided to run a marathon. With little training we are proud to say, we finished it. But it feels good to know that I can do anything I put my mind to! #ogdenmarathon2019#marathonmustace#getoutandlive
