  • What you’re thinking, can ‘become...’ So watch where your thoughts are, daily!

I just caught myself slipping on this which is why it’s on my radar. And i knew it while it was happening. That’s how easily we can fool ourselves. ...
Like it or not, where our thoughts are directed at(professionally, personally, etc), is exactly where we are placing our focus on, meaning your energy, your time, your #mindset efforts. Let’s put some context;
You’re not happy at your job, and naturally most of the day your thoughts are rotating around the factors that you don’t like about the job. Which leaves almost zero energy spent, no thoughts towards, no focusing on, what you ‘do want’ in a job, nor, how you can ‘change’ the situation for yourself (quit, shift things around at current job, change mindsets,...). And time passes and what happened was you were spending so much time and energy(thoughts) on the ‘what you don’t like,’ versus ‘what you want instead,’ leading to a toxic repeating behavior of going in circles and staying at the same current situation. Why? Cuz that’s where your entire focus was, placing yourself even further into a habit that you cannot undo easily. ....
In contrast, if you’re not liking a situation, and immediately your thoughts are 100% ‘how do i remove from here,’ ‘what else can I think about that is productive and maps to what I do want,’ real quick you’ll find yourself taking actions in ‘changing that situation’ for the better, and one that does map to what you do want. It’s a very subtle yet powerful #mindsethack . One that requires #selfawareness at a brutally honest level.

Help yourself. Watch where your thoughts are, as often as possible. And make those #mindsetshifts !

  • TRUTH: There will always be ups and downs along the journey - have the strength to TRUST and take a leap of faith by doing what's hard and starting again. So at some point you maybe made a list of goals, and you got really excited to put your plan into action. But then what often happens? Time passes, conflicts come up, it becomes hard and we tend to put off working towards our dreams and ideal lives. The motivation and passion that got you going has ended, and now you just don't know where to start. Sound familiar? My suggestion for you is to try to focus on what's ahead, rather than looking back with regret. Really take some time to think about what top 3 priorities define YOUR life, and what goals will help you achieve success but allow you to honor those priorities. Immerse yourself in the feelings of how you feel when you will achieve those goals - and get detailed. Where will you live? What will your work look like? Who will you spend time around? Then - and this can be the hardest part - have the courage to DO and get started asap!! Break down a few of your goals into tiny steps that you can implement easily. THIS TIME you won't lose steam, because you can stay motivated by crossing off each step along the way!

  • Happy Easter! We are on a trip 5+ years in the making! I can hardly believe it!

We’re in Colorado to decide if we want to sell our house, leave everything we know, and move halfway across the country😳
.
Years and years ago, when we had a super low income and each were jumping from job to job that we hated, we had a BIG dream of someday being able to both work from home and live wherever we wanted.
.
Austin finished his degree and we made sure that the field he pursued would have this option. I started my blog and and turned it into my full-time job. It was all PAINFULLY slow and often felt like we would never reach our goal.
.
But here we are! Well over 5 years later, we’re on this trip to decide where we want to live! Eeeek!
.
My words are nowhere near enough to describe what this trip means to me and the endless hours of hard work that have led to this point. So grateful. So proud of what we’re accomplished.

  • Doing less repetitions with more weight will help you increase your strength. Doing more repetitions with lighter weights will help you build up endurance. And the truth is, in the real world, you need both and use both in your everyday life. 
Muscle strength is the ability to exert a maximal amount of force for a short period of time. In the gym, that may be bench pressing a heavy barbell 5-8 repetitions. Think about lifting that heavy box when moving – that requires strength.
Muscle endurance is the ability to do something over and over for an extended period of time without getting tired. In the gym, that may be doing 50 body weight squats in a row, moving to a rhythm. Skiing, for example, is a sport that uses muscle endurance. When you are going down the slope, bending your knees, firing your quads, and swooshing down that hill or mountain for several minutes to even longer you need endurance.
While at the gym, you will see a variety of people doing a variety of strength and endurance exercises. When teaching a strength class, I always incorporate some exercises that will build muscle strength and some that involve muscle endurance to round out the participants training. I do this because as I said above, out in the real world, you never know whether you'll need strength or endurance to complete everyday tasks.
And, ignore the myth that using heavy weight will bulk you up. Men genetically can develop more muscle mass through heavy lifting.  However, women, for the most part, do not have the type of testosterone to create that huge muscle bound look. Remember, more muscle is a good thing. The more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn throughout the day and the more capable you are to perform any activity that comes your way.

  • These flavors may not compliment each other very well but when it’s 🐰Easter🐰and you are running all over the place and didn’t meal prep, helps you stay on track with your goals.

Whenever you’re in a bind, you don’t want to use your whey isolate to replace your meal. Especially one that is hydrolyzed, because you’ll just be hungry in about 45-60 minutes. A product like that is designed to digest rapidly since you take it immediately after training, so it clears your gut.

Look for a protein that is “sustained assimilating” instead, like @1stphorm Level-1. It’s a blend of whey, casein and egg proteins and intended to digest over the course of a few hours, so it will hold you over. Keep you on track towards your goals

If you're not learning through your process and working out the best method then you may as well stay stagnant. Coming back to your key goals and remembering why you are going for them will re-spark inspiration and motivation to keep pushing forward. Never forget why you showed up. When you can't remember your purpose - stop and review. PS it is totally normal to lose focus - just make sure you return to your mission ✨✨
