Hmm...I wonder why this good boy is giving me puppy dog eyes? 🍦😂
Hello! The weekend is almost here and I have a few books I want to tackle. I’m binging as many contemporary romances as I can before the summer ends.
Last night, I finally finished The Hating Game by Sally Thorne and gave it 4.5 stars! It was so enjoyable and there was soooo much tension between the couple....woooo. I get why it’s such a popular book!
Qotd—you can only choose one of these tropes, which one do you pick? Enemies to lovers or friends to lovers?
missing this amazing bookstore in edinburgh 🤩
what’s your favorite bookstore you’ve visited?
the strand and city lights are definitely up there for me, but cute and disorganized little used bookstores like this one come pretty close!

A preface to thoughts on some of the most recent books I’ve read.
As readers, what makes a novel is a combination of many things. It does not mean a book is any less of a work because one person did not enjoy it. That an author is any less of an author because a reader did not connect with their writing. I think, as readers, we have the prerogative to be subjective. It’s very curious to see how the realm of bookstagram has become fiercely contested (and perhaps ‘reviled’? lol) - are the bookstagrammers ‘reviewers’? To this I say: who cares? Read read read. Write about your thoughts. Have conversations about what you thought about a book. Write about your personal reveries and meditations. Whilst the platform has become something of a boon for publishers, we’re not writing for the New Yorker (I think @bazfiction mentioned something along those lines...) The proliferation of ‘what’s good’ and ‘what’s not’ has, though, made me think about how quickly a book becomes hyped via this platform, which makes me more judicious in the profiles I interact with and, lately, the books I pick up.
What cements a ‘good‘ book for you?

This will always be one of my favorite book covers for some reason. I love how minimalistic it is, and it always stands out to me. Plus, it’s just a great novel and I recommend it if you like thrillers!
How have you all been lately?? Anything new and exciting going on in your life? Have you read any amazing books? Tell me something good in the comments!
Lately, my life has been an adventure. I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone, working hard on my WIP, meeting new friends, and just being present and happy.
I saw a quote on Pinterest a long time ago that said “Good things never come from comfort zones” and I’m realizing that couldn’t be more true!
i’m having such a baddddd day 😭 everything is just going wrong from big things to little things like echo not coming back in the park and strangers telling me that he isn’t well trained. like okay fellas, ya know he’s an animal and follows his instincts so i can’t control everything he’s doing 🙃 like why are people so rude let me worry about my dog
at least my skin feels good! this is not an ad or anything. i’m genuinely in love with all these products that i bought a few weeks ago. my skin has never felt healthier, clearer and all these products are organic made with healthy pure ingredients. 🌿⭐️

Do you know Erebos?
Have a nice evening/ day ✨
Happy belated birthday @shirelle814 ! You have rocked with me and these books in ways that have made me laugh, smile, and scream with joy. You are insightful and always pick up on the subtle nuances of each of the characters and I love that about you. Thank you so much for supporting me. I hope you did/do something for your birthday that makes you blush and promise that you'll never speak about it in public. Love you!
Inspiring story ✨
That decisive moment when you feel the urge to look after yourself and not others.
This story drives you to consider the "crazy"🤪 idea of being selfish and question if your present is what you expected in the past.
. #EatPrayLove 💓 is a story, in my opinion, based on the popular phrases: "find yourself" and "do more of what makes you happy"
So if you're fan of positive quotes, mindfulness 🧘 and mood booster songs... This book 📖 is for you.
You can feel the energy ☀️in every line.
BTW read it first, then watch the movie to have the whole experience.
A new book. Another story told. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have your accomplishments ever felt like the every day? Has the effort and stress of a thing ever made you so tired that you couldn't enjoy it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There's a bit of guilt around that. It's a blessing and a privilege to be able to not only have an active imagination but a mind organized enough to form what I daydream into something that can be put on paper, something that can heal me and resonate with the people that read it. Why not just be happy? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tony and LeAndra have been a pleasure to write because of their dysfunction, because their relationship isn't normal or healthy and they know it. Because they have to deal with loss and what happens when people who love you betray you. It let me explore the idea of community and entrepreneurship. It gave me another reason to give you a gift, a part of myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I guess even though I'm tired, I'm happy. And grateful that there's another book and you're still with me. Thank you for that.

The old manor house has stood empty for years, left to rot. Until Jess Beddows steps inside, and feels she has come home. Against her family's wishes, she buys the house, promising to bring it back to life. Upstairs, in an untouched attic room she finds a journal. It holds the heartbreaking tale of Martha, and of the cruel, entangled lives of the house's servants and masters nearly two hundred years before. As Jess is drawn into their tragedy, the whispers begin. Before long, everything she loves will be threatened by violent emotion and long-kept secrets.
The story switches between modern day and the past (200 years ago) so effectively it's two stories in one but both are cleverly entertwined. Held my full attention the full book and really drew me in. Full of mystery, suspense and emotions.
This was my first time reading a Rosie Goodwin novel. I have to admit I got my authors muddled up and have previously labelled her as a goto author for a guaranteed good read despite having actually never having read a single one of her books 🙈. Thankfully after the mistaken identity , this is a fair summary of how I feel. Can't wait to read more from Rosie.
Everybody SWYD and lemme tell y’all about my second mama! She is a woman with many hats! She is a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, Mah Mah, author, leader, and the list goes on! Maaaaa!!!! I’m so proud of you and excited for what GOD has in store for you! I introduce to some and present to others Mrs. Tracey Jackson!!!! #HelloWonderful#GoodReads#GMA#Amazon#Books#Journal#Ministry#Writer
One of my fav @reesesbookclub picks! ☀️🌴👌🏻 📖 || 📷: @confessionsofbookaholics#bita#booksintheair#thelibrarybook#reesewitherspoonbookclub#acreisrael On the morning of April 29, 1986, a fire alarm sounded in the Los Angeles Public Library. As the moments passed, the patrons and staff who had been cleared out of the building realized this was not the usual fire alarm. As one fireman recounted, “Once that first stack got going, it was ‘Goodbye, Charlie.’” The fire was disastrous: it reached 2000 degrees and burned for more than seven hours. By the time it was extinguished, it had consumed four hundred thousand books and damaged seven hundred thousand more. Investigators descended on the scene, but more than thirty years later, the mystery remains: Did someone purposefully set fire to the library—and if so, who?
Weaving her lifelong love of books and reading into an investigation of the fire, award-winning New Yorker reporter and New York Times bestselling author Susan Orlean delivers a mesmerizing and uniquely compelling book that manages to tell the broader story of libraries and librarians in a way that has never been done before.
In The Library Book, Orlean chronicles the LAPL fire and its aftermath to showcase the larger, crucial role that libraries play in our lives; delves into the evolution of libraries across the country and around the world, from their humble beginnings as a metropolitan charitable initiative to their current status as a cornerstone of national identity; brings each department of the library to vivid life through on-the-ground reporting; studies arson and attempts to burn a copy of a book herself; reflects on her own experiences in libraries; and reexamines the case of Harry Peak, the blond-haired actor long suspected of setting fire to the LAPL more than thirty years ago.“ #bookworm#booklover#vscocam#books#booksbooksbooks#currentlyreading#whatiread#goodreads#bookish#booksofinstagram#bookaholic#skimmreads#bookstagramfeature#summerreads#beachreads#bookstagram#booksofinstagram#rwbookclub#someofmybestbooks#fortheloveofreading#summerreads

@zoyajpatel ‘s memoir was really readable. As the title suggests, Patel explores race, feminism and national identity. It made me reflect on my own assumptions, words and actions and gave me a better understanding and really got me thinking about race, culture and identity. A thought provoking, perceptive and entertaining read. What are you reading right now?
"We're all just wounded souls. Stumbling about in the dark. Desperately trying to stitch ourselves together, hoping to fill the holes they ripped in us".
Now, this series. This series blew me. I'm not really into Sci-fi space opera thingy. But this? This is wow. Honestly, I'm not crazy about the first half of Red Rising but the last 150 pages of Morning Star was great. I think it wrapped up the #redrisingtrilogy perfectly. And I totally ship Darrow and Sevro 😉 #bromance .
Congratulations my goodman @piercebrownofficial on the release of Dark Age. A tour to Asia soon, I hope?
OMNIR VIR LUPUS!!! Awooooooooo!
Hey y'all my cousin Shelby just got her first book published! You can buy it on Amazon- either kindle version or paperback! Link is in my bio!
I always enjoy romance novels, which made this a fun read for me! I was able to finish the book within one night because I could not put the book down! The story "Hidden" is about a girl and her two close girlfriends that move from NJ to FL to get a fresh start. If you enjoy Nicholas Sparks novels, you don't want to miss this novel by a new author- Shelby Lee @shelb_nucera
