  • We couldn’t be more excited to head back to japan this year, but this time it will be fall. I’ve never experienced autumn colors before because we don’t have all 4 seasons in Hawaii. Japan is one of those places you could never get tired of and we definitely plan on going there every year!

  • ✨NEW ON THE BLOG✨⠀
What’s In My Camera Bag (link in my bio)⠀
⠀
One of the most frequently asked questions @scottyreichard and I get is what camera and lenses we use. I think sometimes there is a misconception that having special camera gear will create the photos you want when it really comes down to your imagination and skill. For that reason, I was hesitant to write this blog. I finally decided to, however, because I currently love the gear we’ve added to our collection and I want to share that with all of you☺️. I wanted to make this blog as knowledgeable as possible, so by reading it you’ll learn:⠀
⠀
-What camera body & lenses we use now⠀
-Which lenses to use to give you specific “looks” with examples⠀
-What camera accessories we own and love⠀
-The pros and cons of our gear⠀
⠀
Even if you’re a camera enthusiast and are trying to learn more about the gear options out there, I think you’ll find this blog helpful! You can give it a read by clicking the link in my bio. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this picture I snagged from one of the best golden hours of my life😍.

  • A rare impression of the area where I grew up: former industrial buildings lit up for night time.⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was taken during an instawalk which was kindly organized by @fotosiasten - always nice to spend an amazing evening with like-minded people ☺️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On a more negative note, I am super fed up with instagram lately. For this post I actually wanted to upload three pics- I couldn't, cause they are both horizontal and vertical. Then I thought why not take both vertical ones- guess what, I would have to cut them in a way that the whole photo wouldn't make sense anymore. So I chose this one thinking I could upload those two vertical ones in my story- THEY WON'T LOAD cause I believe the files are too big or whatever. UGH! Am I really supposed to downgrade the quality of my work just for the sake of presenting it on IG? 🤨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
》So my question is, does any (hobby) photographer still use Flickr? Is it any good? Do you get constructive and honest critisism there? Please help a young girl out cause otherwise I'll have wrinkles and grey hair sooner than I want to. 🙈

Spend your summer soaking up some sun on the Brighton Central Beach and get a taste of the famous Fish & Chips. #BrightonYourDay

  • When we think about caves in India, the first names that pop are Ajanta and Ellora. If pressed further, the Elephanta caves may be thrown into the mix. The truly learned may know that Badami has a couple of caves, too. And, from there, the list runs empty.

It's fair to say that Indian caves have a marketing problem. The beaches and mountains are hogging all the spotlight while the caves sit smouldering in a corner. No one posts half-naked photos before caves or writes inspiration porn about soul-searching in their dark crevices. The reason anyone even goes to Ajanta and Ellora is to avoid slipping into a boredom-coma in my hometown, Aurangabad.

So, let me be a good Samaritan and engage in some pro bono PR for the Borra caves. Remember the picture from the train I posted yesterday? These caves come at the end of that journey. At 80 meters deep, they're considered to be the longest caves in India.

Unlike the Ajanta and Ellora caves, the Borra Caves don't have elaborate carvings or religious idols. These caves are old-school. It's a mammoth hole in the ground that seems to extend forever. Uneven stalagmites and stalactites protrude like pincers from the rock. The stench of bat poop reminds you that humans have no business being there.

The lighting looks like it was done by Mithun Chakraborty. Bright shades of blue, yellow, green, red, pink, purple, turquoise (!), and combinations thereof, illuminate the caves. And, strangely enough, it works. The lights give the caves an otherworldly feel. Some formations even start resembling living creatures as the lights and shadows dance around the caves.

On the whole, the caves are a solid 8/10. The journey is beautiful, the lights are trippy, and it's fascinating to think that all this is a result of centuries of flowing water. But, there are also photo booths inside, which triggered me to no end.

In the northern province Qinghai we stayed in the small village Heimahe near Qinghai Lake. In the surrounding hills we met some nomads living in tents.
