  • We’ve had six delectable months with babies in the office. Our maternity / paternity plan is that you can bring your babies into the office from 3-6 mos. I like to tease that it’s built in birth control… but honestly our babies are always so well behaved—I think it has the opposite effect. Camille and Parker have been our youngest interns for the last few months and I feel like we’ve been blessed to be a part of their early world. Thank you to their moms (@alkjerstad and @krstnjoy) for sharing them with us!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been asked about whether or not I’m worried about the babies interrupting work or meetings and it might just be that we have the most amazing clients on earth… but we’ve never had a problem. We take turns relieving the moms when they need it and don’t schedule things for the witching hour.

For me a crying baby is an excuse to get some baby time in… we go for a walk or take silly selfies together. The team jokes that it’s just me turning a problem into an opportunity, but there is nothing to compare to the smell of a little baby’s head or making a baby laugh. Cam and P remind us all (on the really rough days) that no problem is bigger than the most important thing… the future.

Camille has moved with her mom to Charleston (and we miss them dearly—I’ll be coming down for a visit shortly… so get ready) and Parker is transitioning to spending more time at home with the Grandmas… so really my only question is… who’s next?? This office feels pretty empty without a baby.

  • 😯 Are you a doer or a thinker? A critical part in becoming the best version of yourself is self-criticism... being hard on yourself allows you go beyond your potential! 😊👇🏽 Comment down below whether you are a doer or a thinker... ———————————————————————

  • In the Energy Medicine Summit I am attending, just heard this astonishing fact:
Today’s typical high school student has the anxiety level of a 1950s psychiatric patient.
There is so much to unpack in this one fact. As a parent of one that recently graduated, I can see how the stress level was so high due to the demands of her high school schedule.
As much as we tried to help her take the pressure off, there seemed to be a lot of cultural pressure amongst her peers.

If we look at the future landscape of how these kids go to college and then into workforce, I don’t see any rest period ...this anxiety just keeps rising.

If it is not the grades, then it’s earning more money or gaining the fancy title.

The fact is that stress is affecting us and our children younger and younger. As parents, we have the responsibility to look at our own behavior and make different choices to not only help ourselves become healthier but also for the sake of our kids.
The hustle-on the go lifestyle comes with costs to our mind and body. As medical associations have recently announced that chronic stress-related issues is the #1 reason they see patients ...the good news is that it is preventable.

  • Life always comes full circle.
No matter how far we go.
No matter who we meet.
No matter what we do.
We always come back to our origins.
We always come back to ourselves, the bit of us inside, our core that's truly us.
We always come full circle.
Circle of life.
