Yesterday I had a small exhibition opening in Syöte, thank you so much for everyone who came! ♡ The exhibition is open until 30.9. and all the prints made in Finland by @dialabfineart are for sale. Also huge thanks to my graphic designer @hiekkagraphics for a great work. It wasn’t the first and definitely not the last project together. ↟
Kungsleden day 3: Alesjaure to Salka via tjälkta (26 km)
Day 3 was my longest day on trail, trotting through snow covered valleys and reaching the highest point of the Kungsleden. The day started off right by being offered some scrambled "eggs" (they were born out of a powder and the only thing I will say about it is that I would have preferred a croissant) from a kind Sweed who has been coming up to the mountains for 9 years in a row! I continued the day on a high by sighting a cute little mouse, more reindeer from closeby AND my first lemmings! A reward was only fitting so I ended off with a sauna and a bath in the icy glacier water. Sidenote: I have seen more naked bums and boobs during this week's adventure than in my entire life combined.
Who here has ever done the post-sauna river dip before?
I saw a rainbow at sunset.
Locals say it is a very frequent occurrence here.
And I also had a dream. A REALLY HUGE beast chased me and my friends (I don't know them out of dream). It was like a big wolf, wanted to devour us all. I hid everyone I could, but we couldn't lock ourselves up.
I decided to feed the "wolf" with myself so that no one else was hurt. I was very tired to run away.
I went to the open place to meet the beast. (I know, my self-preservation instinct has completely disappeared). The creature went at me, then jumped (through me) and ran into the forest. No one else saw him later. I felt frustrated.
In my dream I had broken wings and tail (broken too). I tried to fly from one stone to another, but I did not succeed. Unfortunately, I could not fly.
I could only watch as the same creatures like me (which I saved) fly.
Then one of them came up and said that I had to go. At first I didn't understand what was happening, but she said that it was time for me to wake up and sharply pushed me, so I fell.
And I woke up.

"See, dear, what thy lover brings; 'Tis the flower with the white wings.
Buoyed upon the quiet stream In the spring it lay adream.
Homelike to bestow this guest, Lodge it, dear one, in thy breast; There its leaves the secret keep Of a wave both still and deep"
Need to head to the fabric store. I have made a pledge with myself to make all of my pinupey-vintagey dresses myself from now on after I sold most of my store bought ones last winter. Which means that since I need some new things to wear hosting the Midnight Sun Pin Up finals in a couple of weeks I really, really ought to get going. 🤣 This is the 50's dress I made earlier with a little hat I made from old straw hat and some vintage flowers, attached to my scalp....no hair, I mean hair..with some vintage hat pins. 😁

17/01/19 - I am about to board on my aircraft back to Germany/France. Leaving behind the most incredible and magical trip behind. I experienced, the first time of my life standing in a -24.5'C for a northern light chasing. And it was absolutely surreal to see those fascinating lights dancing above my head. I was there only there. For a minute I forgot how painful were my fingers and toes getting frozen by the cold. For a second I forgot all the freaking mess in my life and I felt alive more than ever. I was there, only there, nowhere else. Just in peace with myself. Free from the pressure of the society. Free from everything. Just standing in this most beautiful piece of nature covered of snow and ice. It was me, the Aurora Boreales and the whisper of the nature.
Leaving stronger than ever to face the next chapter of my life. Left Ivalo, few hours earlier, with a -30'C and I was very warm from all the beautiful ladies I met during this most wintery holiday.
Thank you #GLT . Thank you Tiina, Maria, Emilia, Aurora Holidays, and everyone made this few freezing days super warm. - A
