Though the side walks seem lightless and dark, the angel will find her every step enlightened, source unknown, the light shall show her the path, one step at a time, path unknown, but the brave heart will choose to walk through it, and that's because she believes and trusts in herself, and the almighty holds her hand
Christ is risen, Alleluia!
Sunday marked the beginning of Easter, where our Lord Jesus Christ rose from the darkness of the grave, thus securing eternal life for every single one of us.
This very celebration would have started the night before, on Saturday night, at the Easter Vigil Mass. The vigil celebration begins in silence and darkness, similar to the situation at the tomb of Jesus.
The Celebration begins with the lighting of the Paschal Candle, and in that moment, marks the very beginning of the resurrection story of Christ, Our Light, who will shine in the very darkness of our lives to give us hope, that He will come again, just as His Resurrection gave hope to the disciples.
Fast forward to Easter Morning, and the Gospel soon tells us that the two disciples ran to the tomb only to find that it was empty. Christ had risen from the darkness of the tomb.
This Easter, let us let Christ rise from the darkness of our lives, so that we may ever so joyfully glorify the Risen Lord in the people we meet.
“Datemi i vostri stanchi, i vostri poveri, le vostre masse infreddolite desiderose di respirare liberi, i rifiuti miserabili delle vostre coste affollate. Mandatemi loro, i senzatetto, gli scossi dalle tempeste e io solleverò la mia fiaccola accanto alla porta dorata.”
— Emma Lazarus, New Colossus
I pray for those who are silently hurting. They put on a smile, yet they are hurting deep inside. Remind them that broken vessels put back together by You, are the best...because they become Your living and breathing testimony. A mess turns into a message. Beauty for ashes. Your light shines the brightest in the darkest of nights. May You embrace them and love them, in the only way You can. Cup their tears and whisper in their ear, that they can overcome the darkness. They need only stay focused on You. Just as the sun rises in the morning, so will Your Son rise in the hearts of those who hope in Him... “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” ~John 1:5~
Reflective Post...today marks 1 year in my current apartment and there are a lot of feels. It was difficult to leave my last one after living in that complex for 10 years! Not to dwell, but coincidentally this one year time span has been one of the most difficult of my life. A lot of abrupt happenings. Move related. Work related. Death related. 6 year relationship related (+ being stuck in this apartment as a constant reminder & having to communicate w/my ex about rent smh - this is the last month thank goodness!!) Some not so pleasant news over the weekend, and just other abrupt and personal things I sit with alone. Oddly in this apartment.
We all have our things, right? We are all also WARRIORS. And with that, I've gotta say I've had some beyond AMAZINGLY DOPE things happen in this span too. This post is not 'gloom and doom' btw lol I had a great show today with adorable kiddos and rehearsal to look forward tonight. I'm hella optimistic by nature and always ready for the world. So with that being said...wow to the one year! I need to get out of here lol but also: Everything is in Order. Everything has Purpose. Everything is Everything. 🙌🏾💖💯 #SideFroPower
