starting something new just because 💫💃🏾 so this page will now showcase my #locjourney and just give me something to experiment with 😆some of you may remember lo fro Candy from high school 💀 long story short, in 2011 I cut off my hair and started my #naturaljourney despite the critics, now here we are and everyone loves naturals 🙂😂 i have always loved the idea of living naturally and envision myself being 60 years old, vegetarian, still fit and in the gym, established in my career & with gray dreads 😍—don’t know why but it’s a #dream ya know. today I’m 24, been natural for 8 years, been vegetarian for 3, hustlin in my field, working on another degree & just tryna love my best life. this video is day one of having locs, fresh out the shop on march 15, 2019 🖤 keep it loc’d with me xo C.
I had no idea what I was doing to this woman's already swollen ego, after I finally installed her Candi-Locs ❤️💛💚. *About to take picture*
Jacqui: "Wait, lemme put on ma makeup. And you don't need to hide my face, you can show it!" Me: 🤦🏽♀️ I think I created a monster! 😕
Kings & Queens, I hope you are having a golden golden Monday 😁🙌🏽 So here is a tip/reminder 👀. . . at some point of your journey it can be extremely damaging on your hair if you continue to twist or palm roll your ENTIRE coil/loc. (Entire = from roots to ends) ‼️ By damaging I mean you can actually thin out sections of your hair that:
1. Has not budded/is not as mature
2. Is not as strong as other sections! .
Now in the beginning, this can actually be helpful because you're training your coils to mat & tangle in one direction ... But on only in the beginning! ☝🏾The picture to the left was taken at my 2 month anniversary, and if you notice when I palm rolled from the root to my ends, it was extremely noticeable which parts of my hair have not budded! If I would have continued to do this at every retwist, it could cause stress at those sections! The picture on the right, my 3 month anniversary, was only palm rolled at the root twisting strictly new growth 🌱✨ Remember: most hair in mature locs is trapped dead hair that could not shed because well...it was locked 🤷🏽♀️ This means you have to be extremely gentle to not OVER twist and cause breakage 🤭🥺 Again, I hope my page was helpful and enjoy your day! 😘 #locs#locstyles#locjourney#locnation#loclivin#loclove#locrepair#locqueen#loclife#dreads#dreadlocks#dreadstylesforwomen#dreadstyles#dreadz#dreaded#dreadication#dreadretwist
happy 11th month love, i appreciate + thank you for helping me bloom + unfold into the woman i am — the birth of my locs.
my locs turned 11 months today + i been enjoying the process. it’s been amazing watching my hair bud together, grow healthier + longer. often times, i think what took me so long to start. still in disbelief i stay committed. never been so proud of my mane until i saw the magic happening right before my eyes. (after this pictures were taken i whipped my hair back & forth — the moment when you realized your locs are on point + you loving everything about them)
