Stop being the block from your own happiness.
I will never forget a couple of years ago I was at a breaking point in my life where I just didn’t know who I was or what I wanted out of life and I went to the dr for him to give me a pill to make all my worries go away. He looked at me and said V if your not happy with your partner=leave
If you hate your job=quit
Don’t like where you live=move.
He was absolutely correct. And today I’m telling you the same. You are the driving force in your life. Don’t be stuck in a place you don’t want to be in 💕

  • {You Are Worth It} We’ve all been there, knee-deep in the murky waters of single parenthood, desperately trying to live up to family and societal expectations. Then one day you look in the mirror and wonder who the hell is staring back at you. You’ve been lost for a while ~ overwhelmed and living minute-by-minute.
What happened to you? That person who at one time had their life together? That person who others came to for advice on how to “have it all”? That person you once were?

As single parents, we have a tendency to put ourselves last, because that’s what good parents do, right? We pass on those lovely shoes we long for because our child needs another shirt he’ll only wear once and then grow out of. We put off going to the gym, because the limited time we do have we feel should be spent with our kids. We eat standing in the kitchen, we forego washing our hair as much as we’d like (gross but true), and we fill our schedules with activities, playdates, and the like—all for our kids.
There are a few reasons why we do this. First off, we love our children immensely, so putting them at the top of our priority list is only natural. Secondly, we are bombarded with social media’s perfectly annoying other parents (single or not) and Thirdly, we have limited finances and time.
But let me ask you ... What happens when you lean so far in, you tumble? In your quest to fulfill every expectation and need of kids, career and society, you’ve left someone far behind—yourself.

I lived in this miserable bubble for a while. The time I did spend with my children, I was busy thinking about other obligations. My body was participating, but my mind wasn’t. It took a little while to change it, consciously but a few small steps will make a big difference in your life.
Once you start making these little changes, it gets easier to put yourself first. Many of them don’t cost money, just time and even 5 mins each day. Learning to connect with yourself and cater to your own needs only helps you be a better parent and friend.
You deserve happiness just as much as everyone else does, and it’s yours for the taking. Start small, stay consistent and be gentle with the changes

  • And there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing to put yourself if that means progression. ✨

  • I’m learning to love every version of myself.
This version has a breakout because she ate 12 chocolate strawberries.
This version of me has been dealing with a foot injury for 2 years.
This version of me can’t workout like she used to.
This version of me struggles with her mental health. .
But this version of me deserves the love and compassion that the other versions get.
.
Life is crazy. College is hard. Finding motivation seems impossible at times. Skipping the gym is easy. Adapting to a new life is uncomfortable. But every version of me requires a different level of care & support & it’s MY job to give that to myself. .

This version isn’t perfect, and it never will be. I love that I’m constantly changing, evolving, and finding ways to overcome all the challenges thrown at me. I am not defined by any version of myself, I am defined by the way I chose to see my life. And I am in love with that process. 👌🏼

  • Click on the most recent video in my IG story..🎥🤯 I saw this on my timeline right before I went out and my brain is still processing my life choices. How have I been spending my time and money? On Expansion or Memories? Where do we go from here?! 🤨😲😭😧😬....Side note. I needed a new outfit so I made a pair of jeans. Jeans by @gazeldenim

  • You don’t need to go on a fad “diet” for the new year if you make taking care of yourself a lifestyle 💕 I accomplished a lot of goals for myself this year including the physique I built! I declare 2019 to be a year of abundance, growth and happiness for everyone😊
