  • Our sweet boy has been sleeping 8-10 hour stretches at night this week and this mama is loving it.

I remember thinking couple months ago while co-sleeping with Christian if I would ever get to enjoy sleeping again and it was rough. But my amazing friend Anna over at @littlewinkssleep saved us by helping us find sleep routine that worked for us when C was only two months and within a week C was sleeping in his own crib and fell in to his new routine smoothly. Don’t get me wrong there were rough nights, but Anna was always there to support us and help us through all the challenges. Now at 5 months he can fall asleep on his own anywhere with little to no fuss and wakes up the happiest boy. He even spends time alone in his crib in the morning chatting to himself so mama can snooze for a few extra minutes. We are so thankful for Anna @littewinkssleep, she is so passionate about helping families and can help your family too! 💕

  • Don't let a smile fool you, we all go though difficult things. However, it's about how we deal with trials. I don't worry because I know God is in control. My Father is always looking out for me and my loved ones, even those who  don't believe. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-3 Because of what God has done, I can smile because I know He will do it again.

  • I'm so thankful to have him by my side. ✨🙏 I have worked so hard the last 3 years. It wasn’t easy for me to slow down a little and just enjoy the present. Few months ago, i decided to take more time for myself to be able to realign my life’s priorities and my business ambitions. Now I’m starting 2020 with the perfect balance and full of energy. Girls you deserve time for yourself, take it! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Thanks to @houseofjude for that perfect poncho!

  • Tired of hearing about the need for self-care? Me too. 
I've changed my mind about self-care and now believe that 🔥Self care is B.S.🔥 I currently have a Transformers Band-Aid on my right pointer finger because I got a blister picking up dog poop.

You heard that right. 
I was so far behind on the task that I actually got a blister using the bin and rake to clean up the whole yard. 💩

Why was I so far behind? 👉🏻Because I had said yes to too many things.
👉🏻Because I had let mom guilt get the best of me.
👉🏻Because I felt like I needed to be teaching my son letters instead of relaxing and watching Cheer. 🤸🏼‍♀️ Never once have I said to one of my clients "now go home and overload your calendar and don't you dare take time for yourself and make sure you are doing everything everyone tells you you 'should' do." ❌ I've never done that.

And yet here I was, doing exactly the opposite of what I teach.

And then I started to beat myself up for letting the yard get that bad. For not being organized and responsible enough to keep up with my life.

I've never suggested to a client that they beat themselves up for not getting something done.

And yet here I was doing it.

My kids were outside playing & could see that I was sad. When they came over and asked what was wrong, I told them I was mad at myself for getting so far behind and then for talking mean to myself for getting so far behind. ❤️And they told me "mama-you need to be more gentle with yourself. You are only human and it's okay if you get behind. We still love you."❤️ Which is what I teach.

And I had to reminded of that - by my nine year olds.

Self care isn't a spa day or a walk or a date night - ⭐️Self care is Banishing Shoulds.⭐️ It's taking all that stuff you feel like you "should" do, and deciding what you want to keep, and what you can let go.

You don't have to stay in the overwhelm, the exhaustion, the busy, the sad - 
You can stop moving.

I know the thought of that probably makes you want to stop reading and run for the hills. 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🎉This is why I can't wait for my new program to launch because we're going way more in depth.

  • Two years ago I was pregnant with my sweet baby boy Lucas and now to think in another few weeks I’ll have another baby boy to love ❤️ This pregnancy has been a bit different for me emotional especially since it wasn’t planned. Lucas was somewhat planned, crazy as that may seem since Ralph and I were only together for literally a hot second 😂

Caring for Lucas during this pregnancy and dealing with my own emotionally battles, has been a bit of a roller coaster. I’ve put in the back burner my WHYS, my goals, I’ve gone days without wanting to do anything, and I’ve gone days wishing I could just hold on to this moment of just Lucas and I. 
As I enter the end of this pregnancy, I am trying to prepare myself mentally/ emotionally for two, and finding my passion again so I can be home with my babies ❤️ Baby blues are real y’all! I will say mine were minor, here and there thankfully 🙏 
Ready for this mama to get her groove back, hormones and all 🙌🏻 😂

Mommy is really excited to meet you. I can tell already that you will be fierce. I laugh as you wiggle during my discussions with my patients. Everyone is really excited to meet you and find out your name 😂. I truly believe that God had you in mind long before you were born. God has been busy getting me ready to be your mommy. My prayer for you sweet girl is that you would be brave. This world is big and scary. However as I walk through this life, I have never been forgotten or forsaken by my sweet Jesus. He gives me courage to stand in the darkness and reflect his light. His blessings amaze me. I'm so excited to share him with you sweet girl! .

  • Autumn and winter. I used to only think of winter being the worst part about my cycle until I realized the last few days of autumn when progesterone and estrogen tank, are my worst. (Aka PMS)
I realized this was the time I needed to start supporting my body with natural forms of progesterone and estrogen to help balance out my hormones and crazy mood swings. 
If you can pay attention to your cycle, know when PMS is coming, then you can support yourself to lessen the symptoms! 
PMS isn’t something you should have to endure on a monthly basis. You can, should, and deserve to live a PMS-free life! And the secret to that PMS-free life? It’s all about eating the right foods and taking the right supplements taken at the right times during your cycle. (If you haven’t heard of cycle syncing tome to research! read woman code or check out Pinterest for some tools.) Another way is to rid your lifestyle of endocrine disruptors! More on that to follow... Some things I personally do to help myself are exercise, eat leafy foods, dark chocolate (high in magnesium) load up on those bananas I mentioned a few posts back, drink tons of water and of course oil up and take supplements! Extra magnesium and minerals helps out my body tremendously. Natural calm is a great source of magnesium and helps with stress. Mineral essence is also a great source of minerals and magnesium. Oils I use during PMS are dragon time, clary sage and progessence plus. 
Dragon time helps with mood swings, balances estradiol levels, and can ease cramping. 
Progessence  plus is a natural progesterone serum that I use days 1-21 of my cycle when progesterone is at its lowest. To help with bloating I drink tons of water and take sclaressence to help with food cravings, cramping and bloating. 
When I start doing these early on, my symptoms lessen or even # go away and my period isn’t such a pain! 
When I choose to make poor eating choices, neglect supplements, and forget to use my oils, my body responds accordingly. 
Listen to your body, don’t give in to the things that make you hate the end of autumn and winter.

  • I know this is a cheezy shot of Porto but it had to be done. At least you can sleep easy knowing I have literally hundreds of these in different variations and only posting this one.

I actually waited for the beautiful weather with sun and blue skies to go away to get myself a boring sky shot. How's that for timing. .

We've been here three days now and safe to say I like Porto. Alot. Although it's the kind of city I don't feel like running around and sightseeing. It's a city that I'd like to live. In a slow comfortable way, bit by bit, just slowly nibbling on everything this beautiful place has to offer, savoring it and  experiencing it as Porto deserves.

But since I don't have that luxury I'm compromising on having thousands of instashots and instead Frankie and I are taking it easy. Going for walks, enjoying sunsets and early mornings and sampling all the delicious food we can get our hands on. The last one is unfortunately so far only my prerogative although Frankie certainly feels entitled to getting her share. .

  • Here we go! I’m no pro at understanding hormones and I’m definitely not a doctor, but I have learned so much about women’s cycles the past couple years and I really believe if we can understand the way our body functions we can appreciate it more, treat it more kindly, and give ourselves more grace.

No one taught you about your cycle in health or when you entered the 4th grade puberty class. They basically told you what was going to happen, threw some pads and deodorant in your backpack and sent you on your way. Your mom probably didn’t know much about cycles either… no blaming this on mom. ;) If you were lucky enough to have learned about this count it as a blessing! 
As we dive into this topic this week we first and foremost have to understand the 4 seasons or stages of your cycle. Let’s classify them as Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

One of the biggest misconceptions about our periods is that our cycle is only when we’re bleeding but our menstrual cycle is so much more than that!

🖤💗💛🤎 Ok now that we know our seasons, pay attention to how you feel. How’s your energy and what’s happening mentally? If you start to track these things through multiple cycles you’ll start to see patterns happening!

  • Okay, so I am that mom who lets her kids watch Jurassic Park. Believe me, I am well aware that it is gruesome and at times terrifying, but who doesn’t love Spielberg’s epic and quintessential nineties movie (cue the John Williams music). And, when you think about it, when the kids aren’t watching the Velociraptors hunt down kids, scientists and geneticists, they are learning a great deal about paleontology, genetics and bioengineering.
