Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) said: "The secrets that you must show before your friends are only those through which your enemies cannot harm you, for a friend may change into an enemy." Who should not be befriended according to the philosophy of Islam?

Who should not be befriendedWhen choosing our friends we should ask ourselves first: Are they going to help us achieve the purpose for which we were brought to life? Or will they take us away from it? Will they desire for us Allah's (SWT) pleasure or is that completely irrelevant to them and not their concern at all? Are they leading us to Paradise or to the Hell?

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) narrates from his father who said, "O my son don't befriend five types of people:

1. Don't befriend a liar (Kadhib). For a liar is like a mirage. He shows the distant as near and the near as distant. He will always deceive you and trouble you.

2. Don't befriend a transgressor (Ghasib). For he will forsake you for a paltry sum and make your sins appear very alluring to you. He will make you a victim of Allah's chastisement through his petty sins and take you farther away from His obedience and satisfaction. He will make Allah's worship appear as His disobedience, and His disobedience as His worship. He will drag you along with himself in the fire of hell.

3. Never befriend a miser (Bakheel/Kanjus). For in your time of need and distress, he will withhold his wealth from you, while he is in a position to assist you. (He values his wealth more than anything else. And to that end he is prepared to forsake even his friends)

4. Do not befriend a fool (Ahmaq). For (in his foolishness) he will harm you while he intends to help you. (That is why it is said, 'A shrewd enemy is better than a foolish friend') 5. Don't befriend the one who breaks relations (with his relatives/Khata Rahmi). For, such a person has been cursed in the Noble Qur'an in three places. He is engrossed in his own affairs with scant regard for others. (Friendship with such a person will eventually lead the individual towards sins and disobedience of Allah)" May Allah swt bless us with a friend who is good in all. Aameen.

  • My highest was 269, and I was ashamed of that number so I did not take pics or track until i hit a low point in Sept/Oct/Nov and realized I wanted to start knowing how far I was coming because that is how I stay motivated.  I started this account at 246.
.
Its just a number and it doesn't not measure my worth, or my confidence, or anything at all besides a loss of weight. But to be under 200lbs is something I always had as my low-key goal on the way to my main ones.  This is more a milestone for a lot of other things that have been happening at the same time. .
It's walking into a store and knowing I can find something that fits me and not having to order the plus size online because they don't carry it, or having to pay extra for the "extended sizes" that are rarely the same design as the "regular" sizes.

It's almost finally being out of the "obese" BMI and into the "overweight" BMI. It's lowering my risks of high blood pressure, hypertension, sleep apnea (😉) , cardiovascular diseases, diabetes.

It's 4 months of putting myself first and paying attention to what fucks with my head.  Its figuring out who is really on my side and wants to see me grow too.  It's getting enough sleep, getting enough exercise, and improving my mood and my patience.

It's not being embarassed by my weight or size anymore and being open about it.  Which will now get to be reflected here with the scale photos. .
I remember the school nurse in high school weighing me at 212 and saying "wow you wear your weight well" because it was a bad thing that I weighed that much and she had to find a way to compliment it. Even now, I still feel like it's bad for me to weigh this.  It's not. I truly wish I could love myself at this size and just be content and focus on maintaining and not having to put in as much work, but I want more.  I feel myself liking myself more and more every week - I know I will reach a point where I'm happy with how I look.  So my journey is still going but this is definitely the moment I needed right now.

I'm going to celebrate with a whole new hair tomorrow, and hopefully ice cream some time soon - as a part of my caloric intake and not as a caloric surplus 😎.

  • The society bounds the people. People have no right to do anything freely. There is so freedom for them to live and speak. But the specially Pakistani women are so bounded towards their tradition, customs, norm and values. People dont let anyone to do anything and everytime they talk about them. Recently a two cases are seen,
A girl of Punjab College committed suicide due to societal pressure. Her dance video of tiktok was got viral on internet by some of her friends. They maybe uploaded her video for fun, but that video took away her life. What was her fault in that? She was just dancing infront on her friends. We live in a society where such acts are not acceptable by the people. They pressurize the person so much that he/she goes to such extend and took away her life. As we always associate the pride of family with a women so this also let her to do such act. 
Another case is of Model who was from Lahore. She posted her normal modeling snaps on social media. The people started negative commenting on her pictures, so those negative comments let her to comment suicide because of so much stress. 
Everyone cannot digest every positive and negative comments. As everyone cannot tolerate everything that people says.
Our society should condemn such acts. And let the people live their life and give them their full right to live. Everyone has a complete right to freedom and to live. No one can take away this right from us. Let’s together change this thinking and give everyone their fuller rights. ⭐️
