  • Can't help but feel absolutely sick for Brees and the Saints fans..
This is terrible news...1. Because you never want to see a player get injured... 2. Saints were expected to be a possible Super Bowl team. I had them going all the way.
So, what should the Saints do? Start Teddy, Start Taysom, or pick up a qb? I say Taysom should be the guy. But what do I know?

  • This one’s a heartbreaker. It’s not an easy loss to take, it’s not a loss I think this team deserves, but yet we’re 1-1 regardless. We lost our entire receiving corps at one point but Agholor came back in. Lost both our tight ends at one point but Ertz came back in. Lost Jernigan on the D line and Hassan Ridgeway is the next in line after him since we lost Malik Jackson last week. Lost Jason Peters who came back in. Lost Corey clement. I’m sure I’m missing someone still even after listing all those, oh yeah that’s right. Carson Wentz came out for a while but cleared concussion protocol eventually and returned. AND STILL we came so so very close to winning on numerous occasions. If we stop them on 4th down we win when instead Julio scores, If Agholor catches the pass down the field it’s a touchdown and we win, if Wentz gets into the endzone without his knee touching on the 2pt conversion earlier in the game OR we just kick a field goal there instead we win/go to overtime. I could go on and on. This team fought hard, this team played their guts out, but at the end of the day this just was not our game. Ok to Detroit next week, I’ll keep you all updated on injury situations throughout the week.
EDIT: Yep I did forget someone. Jason Kelce was out for some of the game too but cleared concussion protocol.

  • Agholor’s out of the game too now. This is insane. 4 receivers injured this game, quarterback got injured and has broken ribs now for all we know. Center got injured. Who’s next? Just forfeit and get back to philly as healthy as possible

  • Wentz taken out of the game from rib injury early in the game. Likely the cause of him not looking good since that hit. McCown is in the game for Wentz and Wentz is not in the tent, we’ll likely find out more during halftime. Just forfeit the game now and prevent more injuries. This is about as bad of an outcome we ever could’ve dreamed of

  • It’s gameday! The battle of the birds on Sunday Night Football as the Eagles take on the Falcons tonight at 8:20 PM EST on NBC. In my complete schedule prediction from a few weeks before the season started I had the Eagles going 12-4 with this game being one of their losses. I don’t pick the eagles to lose in weekly score predictions though, so I’m taking the Eagles 26, Falcons 21. The Falcons and Eagles have had great close matchups recently, and I expect the same from this one. The key to the win is to utilize the run game, as the Falcons are an undersized defense who aren’t great against the run but are much better against the pass. They’ll most likely look to shut down deep passes like we had last week, which will open up the run game and allow for our running backs to have a big day. We haven’t won week 2 since Wentz’s rookie year, let’s see if that changes tonight. 🦅

  • Minkah Fitzpatrick has been given to seek a trade from the Miami Dolphins, and in my opinion the Eagles should be on the phone with Miami right now. Fitzpatrick is cheap, young (he’s only 22!), and a stud. He can play every position in the secondary (even nickel corner) and this offseason the Dolphins were even using him at inside linebacker in practice. Imagine what Jim Schwartz could do with this guy. If we traded for Fitzpatrick, we’d be immediately upgraded in the secondary for not only this year but years to come. Prior to being drafted, Fitzpatrick (a Jersey native) admitted he was an Eagles fan growing up and was excited when they won the super bowl. But most importantly, he said models his game after Malcolm Jenkins. If he were to get traded to Philly he’d get to learn from him 😳. Although Fitzpatrick would likely play corner for us this year, the Eagles would probably move him to safety next year with 3 of our current safeties scheduled to be free agents next year (McLeod, Sendejo, Cyprien.)
-
Obviously the price tag is going to be high but I’d absolutely be willing to “overpay” for Fitzpatrick. If he was entering the draft right now he’d easily be a top 5 pick, so I think trading a first for him is completely reasonable. I’d also be willing to give up a 2021 second or a 2020 third in the deal. So yeah, a high price tag but absolutely worth paying for.

  • Game Preview:
Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons
-
The Eagles will head into the ATL to play the Falcons for the first time since they were embarrassed in 2015 on MNF, but this time we’ll be on SNF. This game will likely be a shootout, as two of the top offenses in the league will be meeting face to face. Obviously our secondary play wasn’t great last week, so there is an immediately cause for concern going against the Falcons who in my opinion have the best receiving core in the league. Jim Schwartz reiterated in last weeks press conference that he doesn’t blitz often because it leaves our corners in man coverage, and we know what means. So I expect a lot of 3 or 4 man rush all game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing considering how awful the Falcons OL is. On offense I think this could be a very big game for Miles Sanders considering how well Dalvin Cook ran on the Falcons last week. The Falcons DL isn’t great (other than Jarrett) so we shouldn’t have a problem running the ball on them, which ultimately sets up play action.
-
Prediction:
Eagles 34 Falcons 26
Unfortunately for the Falcons, I really don’t see them keeping up with the Eagles offense. Their defense just flat out isn’t very good and I think we’ll capitalize early and often, leading to a victory. Matt Ryan won’t be able to get the ball out in time against the Eagles defensive line (even without Malik Jackson) either. Originally I had this as a loss in my season predictions, but I just don’t see us losing this game.

  • Was it pretty? No. Was it how we expected it to happen? Yeah. The Eagles came out rusty and understandably so considering many of the starters had none or very few reps in the preseason. But what impressed me so much about how the Eagles played Sunday was how quickly things changed. In less than of a quarter of play the Eagles offense exploded and scored 21 points in close to 15 minutes (including halftime). The situational football has also improved (3rd down and red zone) which was great to see. Carson’s mobility has also taken a step up. You can tell he’s not using his mobility as a part of his game but rather a tool in it, which was fantastic to see. Jordan Howard & Miles Sanders look like one of the best RB duos in the league too. People were calling for Howard to play a lot more but the Eagles let him run a lot in the fourth to wear down the defense, which I agree with. I really hope we resign Howard this offseason even though we probably won’t. The one thing that was frustrating to see was the secondary play in the first half, especially out of Rasul Douglas. It seems like he either has a breakout game or just completely stinks. Oh and also the play calling was frustrating to watch, especially the sweeps to Sproles (ITS SO PREDICTABLE!) Was there anything else I didn’t mention? ————————————————————————

  • Eagles win! What a comeback victory! Down 17-0 not going to lie I lost hope for this game, but Carson Wentz and DeSean Jackson carried this team. Can’t believe people think Dak is better than Wentz 😂 the first half wasn’t pretty but this Eagles team showed a lot of fight which I LOVED. Something that changed from last year to this was the third down offense, which can take this team places. I also really liked Jordan Howard in his Eagles debut even though he didn’t get many touches until the fourth quarter (makes sense cause he’s a bulldozing RB). Another thing that was a huge plus is that we came out of this game HEALTHY! What a game for the Eagles, and we’re on to Atlanta. GG to all the Redskins fans @redskinstoday @kirkcousins8_ @skinsterritory @redskinselite @aangry.aaron
