  • {In my Australian Steve Irwin accent}:🐊 Now what we have here is a rare glimpse of the elusive teenager, OUTSIDE, helping his mother water the garden. This is truly such an honor since you rarely get to see such a creature outside of it's natural habitat 🚶👀📷🌱💦☀

A couple of years ago I had a infestation all the leaves gone overnight. So I dug them up washed the roots and put them in pots , good crop last year and now they’re back 😱any ideas to save this years gooseberries? #mymonthontheplot #gooseberrysawfly

  • Too hot to garden in Adelaide today so we opted for a country trip with our besties to a hills winery.
We spent the afternoon enjoying the lake and colours of the Autumn leaves at K1 Winery and their amazing wine.... (Hic..hehe)
A special afternoon indeed.

  • All ready for Winter plantings with these beds turned over and manure added, it looks sooo empty........it reached 32c degrees today with only 6 weeks until Winter 😳. It’s also our driest start to the year on record. Hopefully some good rain comes which is forecast for late tomorrow but only a few mm but I’ll take it. Looks like Autumn temps will be here next week too 👏🏻😆. The garden never sleeps 🤷🏼‍♀️. I was going to give myself a little rest this Winter, as working long hours all week and all the other chores to do it gets tiring, but then once I prepared this I thought to myself “who are you kidding” 😉. Gardening is my escape from reality and my own kind of therapy, so it would be sad if I didn’t pop some plants in 👍🏻 #bedsareready #gardenbeds

  • How cute is my bleeding heart.. google says its full name is lamprocapnos spectabilis (I’ve got a thing for learning these names but I’m not great at them) the flowers are so dainty, in love with them. Yesterday I got my path cleared and edged properly , tidied away loads of plants pots and tools that id left out, gave everything a good water. Had a walk round the garden this morning, checked everything all looking good. temps got low last night but everything seems fine.. noticed my Passion flower has another flower bud on, so excited about this. My parents are getting new garden furniture as well so that means we’ll have a table and chairs again (their old one) after our last one broke, can’t wait 💚also super excited for next week because Easter holidays has been LONG and tiring 😂💜

  • This is the last of the corn being dried by the fire. They aren't all perfect but good enough. I decided not to save the kernels for planting next season as I put painted mountain corn and sweet corn together so they would have cross pollinated and I'm wanting to focus on pure heirloom strains. I'll pop some for fun but give most to the chooks.

  • My ‘Deane Ross Rose’ is getting its flower on in the garden today.
This fab shrub rose flowers 8mths of the year & was bred right here in south Australia by leading hybridist George Thomas.
It was selected to honour the late Deane Ross, a noted Australian authority on roses.
It’s hardy, loves the sun & drought tolerant.
It’s old fashioned style, ruffled blooms are charming & are filled with damask fragrance!! What’s not to love! 🥰💗🌸
