  • 3 INGREDIENT PROTEIN PANCAKES: 🙌🏻💪🏻 the perfect meal prep snack, easy breakfast or afternoon pick-me-up!! They can be eaten alone or are delicious when topped with your fav spreads, which for us will always be PB, honey & banana. 😋🥰

1/4 cup ricotta cheese (we use protein ricotta)⠀
1/2 cup rolled oats⠀
2 eggs.⠀

1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. ⠀
2. Spray pan with olive oil & pour in 1/4 cup mixture.⠀
3. Cook on both sides & repeat until mixture is gone.⠀
4. Cool & serve! (or store) 🤪💖

If you’re having a tough time getting in your target amount of protein for your goal, a good protein supplement will definitely help. While they are not necessary, they are convenient and fairly cost effective

There are many many other forms of protein powders but I’m focusing mainly on the milk based ones here. 3 types of whey and casein. Think of whey as the fast portion and casein as the slow portion
.
Concentrate: This has gone under the least amount of processing. It still contains some lactose and fat so tends to be a bit higher in calories per serving. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. A very good quality concentrate is packed with a lot of good stuff that is taken out of the other types of whey.

Isolate: This one has a very high percentage of its calories coming from protein. At least 90%. The lactose and fat have been almost completely removed. That means you can get 30 g of protein in for about 120-130 cals. Pretty good if you’re trying to stay in a caloric deficit.

Hydrolyzed: This kind of whey has been partially hydrolyzed, meaning it has been broken down a bit more so that your body doesn’t have to work as hard and can absorb it. Whether that makes a significant difference in a healthy adult is debatable- it is used for medical protein supplements and in baby formula. Because it has gone through the most processing, it tends to be the most expensive
.
Casein: Casein acts much more slowly than whey and does not peak muscle protein synthesis as much. It does, however, keep an increased level of MPS for a longer time. Typically, people tend to take casein before sleeping
.
What is the best type? It really depends on your goal and if you can digest lactose properly. The most important thing to consider is the quality of the brand and ratio of protein/calories 👍🏼

Some of the leanest sources are chicken breast, protein powder and fat free yogurt. 🍖

Then you have decently lean sources like fish, beef, and beans. These are still lean but have a little more fat or carbs! 🐟

Than you have protein sources like eggs, salmon and lamb. These still have a lot of protein but also a decent amount of fat. 🥚

I am soooo excited to finally have these available for you guys!

I have been using Blender Bottles for my entire weight loss journey for so many different things (protein shakes, pre-workout or even just drinking water). It's so convenient because there's also a loop to carry it and it fits in almost all cup holders.

These are super good quality and I've never had one break. There are so many different brands of these types of shaker cups but I believe this brand is the best. AND it has my logo on it!! *happy dance

My Adventure to Fit means so much to me because although it was the name I chose for my journey, it truly applies to everyone on theirs. Losing weight and starting your fitness journey can be so hard. It's finding all the new things that you love that put the adventure and the fun in it. The new healthy snacks, the new workout equipment, cute dumb bells for your at home workout or whatever it is, is what makes this so much fun.

A lot of these can range in price depending on where you buy and the brand you choose but for the most part, all of these are extremely affordable if you select the right ones especially if you buy in bulk.💪🏻

  • Apparently I’m now one of those people who tracks macros, spends a lot of time researching supplements,  and gets super excited to try a new protein powder. What have I become? 😂 Seriously though I’ve learned lately through MFP I am consistently failing to consume enough protein to support my goals: developing more lean muscle, burning fat, and recovering from intense workouts. This baby only has 2 ingredients, has 0 grams of fat and carbs, and has 25 grams of protein. And since it’s flavorless I can literally add it to anything. Leaning into the supplement life. Here’s to balancing those macros and becoming stronger 💪

Ingredients (for 2 servings):
OVEN-BAKED FRENCH FRIES
2 russet potatoes
2 tablespoons  olive oil
1 teaspoon  salt
1 teaspoon  garlic powder
1 teaspoon  paprika

CARNE ASADA
1 teaspoon  salt
½ teaspoon  pepper
1 teaspoon  chili powder
½ teaspoon  dried oregano
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons  fresh cilantro, minced
½ cup  fresh orange juice
¼ cup  fresh lime juice
½ lb  flank steak
1 tablespoon  canola oil
½ cup  shredded Pepper Jack cheese
.
FOR SERVING
sour cream
guacamole
diced tomatoes
fresh cilantro leaves
cotija cheese, grated
.
Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cut the potatoes into wedges. In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika until each fry is fully coated.
3. Place the fries on the baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and golden brown.
4. In a medium bowl, combine the salt, pepper, chili powder, oregano, garlic, cilantro, orange juice, and lime juice. Add the flank steak and marinate for 20 minutes.
5. Heat a cast-iron skillet with the canola oil over medium heat. Cook the steak for 3 minutes on both sides for medium-cooked steak. Remove the steak and let it rest for 10 minutes.
6. After 10 minutes dice the steak.
7. In an ovenproof skillet, place the baked french fries, Pepper Jack cheese, and diced carne asada, then broil until the cheese is melted.
8. Before serving, top with sour cream, guacamole, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and grated cotija cheese.
9. Enjoy!
