Sometimes I think to myself... I shouldn't eat so much.
Then I realize, that's ridiculous. I live a well-balanced life. Whenever I overindulge, it's usually during a period when I am averaging 15 to 20 thousand steps a day. I serve my time working out and being active. I don't deprive myself. I enjoy every bit of what makes me happy (food and exercise). It's my life, and I shall live it the way I want. My memories and experiences are what I treasure the most. And if that means eating this perfect piece of Suckling Pig, so be it.

This is the first month or so of me in China. Over 4 years ago. 😨 mamma mia. Time flies.
Beijing didn't impress me much, but there are few places I really enjoyed. This is one of them which I always visit once there's enough time - summer palace, a summer residence of empress dowager Cixi (Google it, a very interesting lady). Even though summer palace is awesome in summer (duh), but late autumn/winter time are very special: less people (number one reason), beautiful colors and nice weather. Great sunsets. 😌
Let's talk fat girl travel for a moment. I truly shocked myself on my trip to Beijing. Not only did I hike the Great Wall for a few hours (and we were not smart about it. We ended up climbing mostly uphill instead of down.) but that same day I went to the Summer Palace where I had to walk up stairs for almost ten minutes straight to take this picture (talk about things we do for the gram). I wasn't tired or falling over just very out of breath in the moment (some of that could and should be attributed to the views that I was taking in).
I always knew that the human body was capable of enduring so much and had the capacity to contain an immense amount of strength. I just never thought that about my body. (I mean, I knew that if I was being chased by a serial killer that I would be able to outrun him due mostly to the fact that I don't want to die and the huge amount of adrenaline my body would produce.) To be able to go have such a strenuous day and not ache or have sore muscles was amazing. This fat body is amazing.
It's nice to know that I could be an Olympic Gold Mentalist for running. (I won't because I'd prefer to eat popcorn and watch Pysch.) Please know that being fat is beautiful too. I, as a fat woman, will continue to travel the world unapologetically.

It is a copy of the Phra Thinang Aphonphimok Prasat in the Grand Palace, which was Built by his father, King Mongkut, as a Pavilion for changing regalia before mounting a palanquin.
King Chulalongkorn named his Building Aisawan Thiphya-art after King Prasat Thong's original Pavilion. This Pavilion now house a bronze Statue of King Chulalongkorn in the uniform of a Field Marshal which was sat up by his son King Vajiravudh (Rama VI).
