Long busy day full of training, running calls a workout, house duties and weeklies
Topped it off with this bomb Firehouse Stuffed Meatloaf
Diet this, diet that. Here's the truth, Diets don't work, end of story
Count your Macros and daily calorie intake, build on it, what works for you might not work for someone else, know your body and listen to it
You know what to eat, Be Disciplined, it's not about a quick fix, it's a lifestyle change, it's longevity
Tonight's deload squats. 3 beltless triples and a beltless double with 315# just messing around trying to hit depth.
I'm really, REALLY bad at judging depth visually (I would NOT be comfortable side judging a meet at all), and I've never received a single red light for depth in a meet. But over the course of this injury and going up a weight class, I've lost the ability to FEEL when I've hit depth. .
The first 2 sets in this video are the closest I could tell by feel that I was at depth. The only difference is in the first video I'm wearing flat shoes and then I switched to my lifters.
The third set I REALLY sunk it as low as I can physically go and then the double I did the first rep to the depth of my last triple and the second one to the depth of the first two triples. .
All videos are from roughly hip height (thanks @quadrisaurusrex for recording the first one).
A year ago, you couldn’t have convinced me to try acrylics, much less use them on paper instead of a canvas.⠀
I love using oil paints and I will always love them.... but at some point I have to give in to the Holy Spirit’s whispers. Much to my dismay, God is always pushing me out of my comfort zone. And guess who pretty much never goes willingly? 🙋🏻♀️ So the gentle nudging doesn’t usually work. ⠀
My Savior knows my heart all too well, and eventually plants a passion so deep that I feel as if not doing it is not an option. And of course- He’s always right, and it’s always a freeing trust fall. ⠀
I’ve been using mostly acrylics for the past 6 months, growing and learning with the new-to-me medium, and genuinely loving the process. ⠀
If there’s something planted in your heart that you know God put there, trust Him. He knows you better than you’ll ever know yourself, and His plans for you are more than you could imagine.

Lots of content out there banging on to you about #selflove , am I right? Is it just me but are lots of ‘wellness experts’ telling you to simply hashtag love thyself and unicorns will start shitting rainbows in your world again?
So what do you do when your partner doesn’t understand the boundary you now have and gets pissed at you when you enforce it because of self love? How do you handle losing folks who benefited from you being a doormat? What about when the kids can’t understand why Mum won’t wipe their metaphorical arses 3000 times a day anymore?
There is a missing component that I want to highlight. Self Love, if you have not had this wonderful state of being for quite some time, is not a switch you just flick on. It’s a PRACTICE to relearn and remember.
It takes honesty, connection and a truckload of grace to consistently hold your soul in a state of self love again. It can hurt sometimes to practice self love. It is a process. It is an important skill to learn/relearn. It is a reprogramming of your subconscious. It is deep inner work.
Holding people doing this work for real in my heart. I see the courage and commitment you have made. You are doing amazing.
As their coach, I am proud to say that my team has come a long way from where we’ve started. The work will pay off for the girls who continue to push themselves everyday. It only goes up from here💪🏽🏀 #trusttheprocess#traditionstartshere
WHY NOT ME?!
Sometimes starting is the hardest part.
Trying to change anything is hard
You are going out of your comfort zone into some unknown or maybe once known territory you haven’t visited in a while .
And a lot of excuses will come up to try and pull you down.
You aren’t ready
Who are you to be doing this
You don’t have time
You don’t know how
What is one lap going to do
If I can’t commit to a long workout what’s the point
I always give up
Things never work out
I’m not smart enough
It’s too hard
Blah blah blah...
The problem begins when we focus on just that. The PROBLEM. The LACK. What we don’t have that lead to a whole circus of negative emotions on top of the excuses and how hard it’s gonna be
Instead focus on the progress. The outcome. How would it FEEL to achieve that. To get to that place you want to. What would it be like? What would you’re wildest dreams and desires be if you could just _________. What would you be grateful for?
Choose to be bigger than your excuses and circumstances. Choose to go after it because of the excitement of “what if”. Focus eyes forward and celebrate the small wins.
