LONG POST AHEAD:
In October 2016, I started rehearsals for the very first workshop of @frozenbroadway . What I didn’t know then was that for the next 2 and a half years of my life, I would be a part of the #frozenbroadway Family. I worked on 2 workshops, the out of town in Denver, and then eventually opened the Show on Broadway one year ago on March 22. It has been a whirlwind, and I’m grateful for every experience and friendship I’ve made along the way. Being on broadway has been a dream turned reality... it’s never lost on me how lucky I am to live my life and do what I do.
At the end of January, I decided that It was time for me to move onto something new, and I put in my notice to leave the show on this coming April 21. It was a scary and difficult decision, but with the support of my family and amazing managers (@itsmr.lewter, Cyd @clamgmt ) I knew that it was the right move for me.
But sometimes Life just hands you situations that you can’t fight your way through. On Feb 12, I was suddenly struck with intense vertigo resulting from an inner ear infection called “Vestibular Neuronitis”. It’s been almost 6 weeks, and I’m still experiencing serious symptoms. While I am healing quickly, my body won’t allow me to dance without feeling completely out of control. I tried to go back to the show this week, but the experience was overwhelming and scary for me. I wasn’t ready, and this isn’t something I can just fight through.
SO yesterday, I made one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I won’t be returning to Frozen on Broadway. I had to do what was best for my health and wellbeing, as well as what was best for the show. The entire company has been kind and supportive and as I packed up my things at the theatre yesterday, I was greeted with hugs, tears, and nothing but kindness and support. Broadway is magic. Frozen Broadway is MAGIC. I will always cherish my time in this beautiful show, but I know big things are up ahead for me. Stay tuned folks… I’m not done yet ❤️❄️🙏🏻 #frozenbroadway#broadwaydancer#singer#actor#grateful#vestibularneuritis#vertigo#strongwomen#growth#obc#originalbroadwaycast
Recent disscussion about friendships, guilt and restoring in whatever way things can and will be restored. There are our younger years where we are still learning, then we get to our middle age and well...I guess we are still learning a thing or two. ❤
