Patanjali identificó ocho aspectos en los que está basada la práctica de yoga. Uno de ellos son los Yamas o restricciones que un yogui debería seguir en su vida.
Ahimsa es el primero de los “yamas” y se refiere al concepto de “no causar daño” o “no-violencia”. Este es un yama bastante especial ya que, se dice, que el resto de yamas provienen de este. Porque todo, en su raíz, se basa en no causar daño a nadie, ni a ti mismo.
Ahimsa puede aplicarse a todos los conceptos de tu vida. Desde la alimentación, a la forma de vestirte. Desde la forma de hablarte a ti [email protected] a la forma de relacionarte con los demás.
Ahimsa es comprenderte, aceptarte, amarte, tener pensamientos positivos, hacer lo que amas, ayudar a los que te rodean, tener compasión, ser paciente, respetar la vida de todos los seres, ser conscientes de donde provienen las cosas que usamos en nuestro día a día, y ser conscientes de donde van (reciclar y reutilizar), comer conscientemente, evitar las críticas y las quejas... BALANCE...Learning how to balance time with myself and time with my children use to be a very big struggle...5 years ago my life was such joyful chaos. I had 3 wild little boys 5 and Under, having so much on my plate was a struggle and it was never easy for me to ask other people for help, which in turn only made it harder on me. My husband was away for work a lot at the time and I pretty much handled these three little crazy cuties on my own. It was Draining because i hadn’t yet learned how to balance the time for myself and the time for my three children ..ultimately it was my body that did the talking. One day the tension that built up in my shoulders and upper back muscles was so unbearable (a sign of being overburdened with responsibility)...I will never forget the moment I was sitting in an emergency drs office and I didn’t know what was wrong with me. My neck and shoulder muscles all locked up. I couldn’t move my head even a millimeter without shrieking in pain. In fact my right ear was literally stuck to my right shoulder. I couldn’t even straighten my head. The dr couldn’t do anything for me other than offer me pain medication and muscle relaxers, which I refused to take because I was still nursing that little cutie you see on the bottom right... I was left with no answers and I found myself alone with three babies and no options. My aunt was a massage therapist and thankfully she was able to rush over, after about an hour of her working on my neck and shoulders I was able to straighten my head again... B O O M 💥 my body had spoken. I was taking too much on and not asking for enough support, I wasn’t taking any time for myself to heal, to process, to recharge. New Moms if I can share with you one word of advice, it’s this. Please ask for help when you need it, please take time for yourself

Aaaaand I’m off to Corsica.
I’ve been craving some well needed time away for a while now, and I am sooooo happy to finally get it!
Mental health is so important! I love what I’m doing, but I’m doing tons of things at the same time and really feel the need to slow down. Being away in a place where not much is happening will force me to take a step back. Exactly what I need right now.
I’m hoping to use this time to finish my 2 ebooks, as well as to rest. Not necessarily sleep, but rest, reflect, meditate, be in nature... I’m definitely aware of my privilege to be able to go away for 2 weeks when I feel like I need to, and I absolutely do not take it for granted. I obviously don’t always have that option, and when I don’t have it and feel like I need some time off, I like to disconnect from my phone and do anything that makes me feel good, either in silence or with some calm music.
Oh and if you’re new here, you may ask: why Corsica?
Well, that’s where my mother is from, I’ve been going there almost every year since I was born and it truly is my happy place ♥️ btw, I took the night bus from Brussels to Toulon and I’m currently waiting to take a night boat to Ajaccio tonight, and I’ll arrive tomorrow morning ☀️ And you, what do you do to disconnect? And where is your happy place?✨

✨How to: Peacock Pose✨
This advanced arm balance was always the most difficult one for me to master. With regular practice I started to feel more comfortable and confident in it. I figured out that a good wrist preparation and a strong core can bring you closer to this beautiful pose. The last step is to be able to shift the weight on your hands and move as far forwards as possible to get into a perfectly balanced position.
This so resonates with me today. Just leaving a morning class I held focusing on connecting with your breath and by that, with your inner soul. All 20 in ages from 13 to 65 were shining when the left and for 75 minutes the gym hall became a temple. I am grateful to my teachers and my ability to teach and to reach people. This class I got to name my self and I call it “luxury Sunday” it has turned in to a diamond hour.
Parallel in the process work and relationship is evolving, not that it is flawless or easy, rather in motion, taking shape in a new way for me, it is as if it grows from somewhere within rather than being created/built. The biggest lesson I’m learning right now is to turn UP the volume on myself and be BRIGHTER ⭐️⭐️⭐️ and it’s defo a journey - I got this little voice in my head telling me not to be too big for my boots!! And I’m not listening!!! It’s time to listen to that voice inside inviting you to SHINE brighter and turn up the volume on your beautiful self ✨

I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It's not a preachy vegan book, it's a beautifully written manifesto about living life with less stuff and more compassion. Something absolutely everyone can benefit from.
It is short and to the point, can be read in an hour and is filled with incredible insights and information ❤ 10/10

Sometimes we may choose our path based out of fear. I know I have been guilty of letting fear get the best of me, burying it in the excuse of 'practicality' when something has seemed so far out if reach.
The thing is we can also fail at doing something that we dislike, so we might as well take the chance with what brings joy.
In the end what we regret is the chance we didnt take, the time we didnt follow our heart. Are you willing to make choices out of love instead of fear? Forge that path. 💙🔥

Durante o preparo um bom vinho e Tbm um bom queijo, sim eu quis, e hoje eu o comi feliz, fizemos por inspiração da @loreta_lopez nhoque de inhame com nozes e de abóbora kabotian com farinha de aveia e arroz, além de um molho branco com espinafre feito à base de leite de coco e búfala! Se ficou bom? Ficou maravilhoso! 😍😍😍
Cozinhar requer entrega, cuidado, respeito pela comida e pelo outro, e por vc mesmo Tbm, que permite sentir os aromas, a cozinhar plenamente invocando todas as percepções do alimento, cor, textura, forma, cheiro, gosto, lembranças, memórias! 😍😍
E quando vc da conta de todo o caminhar deste alimento até o preparo final parece que a comida se torna ainda mais especial e maravilhosa!
