#censo2020#censo#estadosunidos#alaska

After several rough days, we've resurfaced the plane! Great work team! *Added some additional photos after completion of lift and salvage
I am not the type of person who really does “New Years resolutions”
I set goals regularly and I try to constantly be learning & moving forward BUT! I do love having a word theme of the year! I have been, and will continue to strive for BALANCE. This picture so embodies the balance I try to strive for in my life 🤣😂 My teas, ginger, medication... the natural & medical coming together to make me a better human 🤣😂 Do you have a 2020 word that is resonating with you? Or do you do New Years resolutions??
The other day a moose wandered into the lower yard and we were all pig nosed, tongue waggin watching her out the window.
My husband stated: wow Moose have big ears
My eldest: yeah dad but mine are way bigger 😆
Then the twins started a screaming match on whether the momma moose was sewing or sleeping.
I’m pretty sure the moose heard the racket and decided we were the most exciting and amazing crew of people.
I challenged myself to learn downhill skiing on my 32nd birthday and this really humbled me as 6 year-olds and 18-month old children passed me by at full speed owning the slopes of Alyeska. But we’re never too old to learn something new. Cheers to another year of learning, hoping, loving, sharing, caring (insert - and earning 😉). Thank you everyone for the warm greetings. Please continue to share happy memories with me throughout the years.

We hiked the mountain in Valdez to see the glacier and on the mountain there was a huge glacier still melting. (later I saw the Bear Grills show accidently and found out that President Obama also went here in the special episode.)
As I hiked the mountain, I felt the chills from the glacier soothe the bones and at the same time to cleanse the dust of my heart.
Water falling from the glacier forms the river and flows into the sea. I slumped on a gravel field near the river. 。
I put my hands and felt the glacier.
I remembered this moment with my eyes, my heart.

Hang cleans and box jumps galore. Also a casualty. @lookitsthatjess got a boo boo on her very last box jump. And it will leave a mark.
Increasing weight and height per round is not just a physical challenge, but mental. Although I scaled the weight and height, I was trying to keep up with @jenkayb and Jess who were doing Rx weight and height, but once I got to round 3 and 30" box jumps, it took me 2 minutes to get my box jump mojo. I even had no problems jumping that height during the warm up. Or even any time. It took me 2 minutes and putting the box back to 24" for a jump for my brain to remember I can jump that high.
Finished in a slow 16:59. Video of the last 2 sets of round 3.
WOD for time. 18 minute time cap
Hang clean 65/45 lb
Box jumps 24"/20"

I’ve wanted to be on rivers since I was in high school, but I was too afraid until late in my college career. Now, I’m scared to be something than “a gear writer” or a “recipe editor.” I’ve never been paid to write a piece about controversial topics, political and economic opinions, or environmentalism, mostly because they’re terrifyingly touchy topics. And I am not usually one to rock boats. (Get it?) .
How’d I overcome this fear? I wrote about mining and the Chilkat for @nrsweb’s Duct Tape Diaries. .
Like I said before, I get a flutterby in my chest when I write for a new publication. This one hit home in a big way. Cheers to river rats, Alaskans, and talking about things that matter. Many more thanks to @aaronharoldhenry, @matt_the_mcdonald, and @caculler for the incredible photos, as well as @lynncanalconservation for all of their incredible help with research and context. .
(Read it via the link in my bio, you’re smart people.)
