  • @TheUrbanVoyager: Hi, I am Tanmay, and I live in the Bay Area of Northern California. I am a landscape photographer, and I work for @Apple as a hardware designer. As a child, I picked up an outdoorsy lifestyle from my dad who was a veteran expedition leader in the Western Ghats of India. By the time I was 13, I was already doing fairly technical Himalayan treks and exploring untouched scenery in my home state of Maharashtra. And then life happened, albeit a little too early. I was confined to my house for the next few years. It was during this time that I took a liking to Indian Classical Art which later evolved to graphic design and photography. As I got older, photography gave me a reason to go back to these places. However, to my dismay, I was finding these places in much worse condition than when I had last seen them. Social media had started to attract more people to these places, mostly those who appreciated nature but some that didn’t. And it really started to bother me. I asked myself why are humans so incapable of living in harmony with nature? And from this point on I started to get involved with nature conservation. I wish that some day, with all of our combined effort, we will be able to undo some of the harm that has been done. And perhaps generations to come will be able to experience the same joy that I did as a child exploring this beautiful planet unharmed by greedy humans.

  • Day 6 to 10 - km 138,1 to km 326,3
Climbing & descending and climbing more before descending again, then climb, climb and climb before going down and down and down never without climbing one more time. And at the end of the day there is a lake, I just camped near 3 in the past 5 days, and of course jumped in all of them, 1 was frozen, literally frozen and I couldn't stay in for more than 10 seconds but even this 10 seconds gave me so much life.
Most of my day I spend alone, some days I also camp alone, one night I thought I was alone until 6 or 7 rats tried to go inside my tent, what a night… The person I spent the most time with until now was Behemoth, a guy from Minnesota doing the PCT while his wife is doing a fellowship in Iowa. Sometimes we don't see for a day or 2 but we end up meeting somewhere.
My body is feeling great even sometimes while climbing my head is so low it is almost hitting the floor but then i look around and I just get more and more amazed with the views.
It is so beautiful out here, I just can't complain.
Day 6 (36 km) - Some rats wanted to sleep with me;
Day 7 (38,1 km) - Jump on a frozen lake;
Day 8 - (43,9 km) - why do the mosquitos exist?
Day 9 - (41,4 km) - Just wanted to eat and eat more;
Day 10 - (29,2 km) - Resupply day, loads of food.
Always safe with & happy @iatisegurospt

  • ”The sea is change.” The waves are erasing the memories and marks left behind. What was once marked on this vast sand was erased by the sea. "The sea is a constant change!"
