  • It's the first day of spring, but you wouldn't be able to tell here. It's just the same ol' stunning desert mountain ranges. 😍.
.
What does spring look like where you are? 🌷🌻.
.
PS: that moon is added artificially! 🙊 The moon on this hike was looking so beautiful 💁‍♀️ I really wanted to incorporate it into this shot.

  • I have received lots of messages now asking for advice on travel to Egypt since I post so much about Egypt now. I decided to create a list below of some of my best advice for visiting the temples in Egypt. 🤗🇪🇬✈️⁣
⁣
* If you want to book a tour for your entire trip I recommend booking with @encounterstravel! If you are a more independent traveler & want a guide for a few day trips I still recommend booking with @encounterstravel. They can take you right where I am here in Abu Simbel. 🤗⁣
⁣
* The tourists sites in Egypt are starting to get crowded again so be prepared for this during peak season. I recommend visiting temples early in the morning to avoid the crowds! The temples in Aswan open at 7 am & in Luxor they open at 6 am. ⁣
⁣
* The only temples I would recommend visiting later in the day are the ones in Abu Simbel (where I am in this photo). Most tour operators provide day trips here arriving at 8 am which is when the temples are very crowded. Ask your guide to bring you later in the day. It might be hot but it will be quiet! ⁣
⁣
* If you are like me and you use a tripod to take photos (this is how I take photos of myself) be prepared to pay a tripod fee for every temple. It’s not much money but if you forget then you won’t be able to use it. ⁣
⁣
* Lastly, some of the security guards at the temples will try to trick you into hiring them as a guide and guilt you into paying them a tip.🙈 They’ve tried to do this to me 🤣 but I just provide them with a firm “no.” Whenever I have had a guide with me it’s been a more hassle free experience. ⁣
⁣
If you have any other questions about Egypt or have your own travel tips just leave a comment below. 👇 I will have plenty more Egypt travel tips in a blog post coming soon!

  • Hiç sevgilimiz olmasın.
Altınla, mücevherle dolu hazinemiz ardımızda durmasın.
Hergün çile çekelim.
Yorulalım umut etmekten.
Bir dost bile bulamasak biz.
Ve kötü bile olsa hayatımıza yazılan kader.
Eski Mısır'ın gururu bizlere yeter.

Yaşadığım süre içinde yazılarım bu şerefli tarihe aittir. Narmer , Hotepsekhemui , Netjerikhet , Mentuhotep , Mentuhotep'i , Seqenenra Taa , Ahmose , Tuthmosis III anısı için.
Ve Karnak için.

  • Edfu Temple 🌟
-----------------------
This temple was one of my favorites in Egypt. Smaller than the previous 2 temples we visited that day, it is so well preserved and we had the place completely to ourselves.
✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧
When Aaron and I arrived to Aswan, we knew we had to get to Luxor the following day, but we didn't know how we were going to. I wanted to find a private driver ourselves to hire, taking us to Luxor and stopping at some temples along the way since travel sites. It was nerve-wracking, being a major planner, not knowing for sure what our plan was until we got there, but it worked out to our benefit. We ended up paying half the price that was quoted to us on a travel site. And I'd rather pay a local directly to take me, knowing they get all of the money, versus some company where the driver is only getting part of it.

A big part of traveling is embracing the unknown, which isn't always easy for us planners. Traveling has taught me to be much more laid back in life in general, particularly when traveling - life doesn't always go your way; you are going to miss that $1000 flight at some point, you are going to get stranded somewhere you don't know anyone, and you will get frustrated with language barriers. When you don't encounter any of these things, be grateful. And when you do, which you inevitably will, still be thankful for the lessons that come with it.
