Here’s the angel design her name is Angelica and she’s super sweet. this was hard because I wanted to just give her horns and a leather jacket 🤣 I prefer more dark and spooky designs but this was fun 😉 -
I went to check if everyone was okay in the veg patch and in the most part, things are ticking along. The chamomile appears to have been nibbled but everything is relatively unscathed. Compost is going down nicely so am topping it up again and it looks like the neighbours have brought round pots for me to reuse/recycle! Time to get sowing! #valerian#chamomile#marshmallow#angelica#limebalm#chives#rhubarb#garlic#compost

Angelica (Angelica archangelica) is a biennial plant in the Apiaceae family. It enjoys full sun to part shade in zones 4-9. It grows in damp places, specifically near rivers, seashores, & streams. It readily reseeds & you can thin out & transplant the babies that germinate under the mother plant. Angelica prefers rich, moist soil & is an excellent riparian species. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The whole plant is edible, from root to seed. Historically it was made into a cornucopia of medicinal preparations; a favorite traditional preparation was to candy the stems. The aboveground (aerial) parts have traditionally been used fresh or dried after harvesting before the plant flowers. The roots can be harvested in the fall of the first year, or spring & fall of the 2nd growing year. Seeds can be harvested green & either dried or used fresh for tincture or candied. As a highly aromatic herb, it makes a delicious infused honey to sweeten tea. It is a great addition to digestive aperitifs as well! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Traditionally, Angelica has been used to help the body return to equilibrium, especially after an illness. It is thought to regulate overstimulation to bring the central nervous system back into balance as well as improve overall immunity. Angelica is believed to work with the reproductive & digestive systems as a tonic, stimulant, & relaxant. Previously, the plant has been associated with the intestines, stomach, uterus, & cardiovascular system. It has been used historically to aid in digestion, prevent constipation, & bring on menstruation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the 1940s, some people used Angelica root as a tobacco substitute, believing it to protect against evils & cure illnesses. Spiritually, Angelica is said to connect one to the angelic realm, hence its namesake. The large flowers glow in the sun & the whole plant becomes illuminated with a halo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Nuestro Aquiles se fue de vacaciones!
Pero antes pasó a su control veterinario y a cambiar su collar isabelino ❤️
Muchas gracias a su propietaria #Angelica por la constancia y dedicación entregada a su mascota.
