What do you think about this proposal for Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral? Everyone is criticizing this proposal of Alex Nerovnya because it is not “respecting” the history and style of the cathedral built over 800 years ago. But I think is more disrespectful if we try to imitate a gothic ceiling built in 12th century. The historical value of the cathedral will not be the same, is like cheating history and visitors. That’s why I like the proposal of the glass ceiling; what looks modern is actually modern and what looks old is actually old. Besides, the exaggerated contrast of styles is just beautiful. That’s just my opinion. @sofiacastellanoz -
Leaf pavilion in forest will feature a coffee ,restaurant and rest area on both terrace and ground floor level. The various types of spaces hosting the programs of the pavilion are all inspired by the leaf of the trees on surrounded forest. The project focuses on a symbiotic relationship between the provided transparency by glass pavilion and the adjacent forest, where the natural landscape outside begins to mingle with pavilion spaces within.
The architectural dynamic structure of the leaf pavilion is well-integrated an open ground floor where visitors can wander in the forest and discover the exhibitions. This pavilion can be adapted to any kind of forest area, the development offers visitors an escape from the city with opportunities for fresh dining and connecting with nature. The users can be rested on terrace level and will be connected with natural forest.
The impression of an infinite forest landscape is reinforced by the use of vertical structure elements that define boundaries, like the mist of the forest.
