Alrighty, here it is, on October 3rd, my first Inktober mini illustration! Thanks to @christopher.a.leach@headbanginghostess and @clbeeton for the suggestion of a snail! One of you said “because they’re cute!” and I decided to take that as a challenge. I’m pretty sure most people don’t see a snail and go awww, so I tried my best to make you do that with this illo. Thanks for all the fantastic suggestions everyone! I’ve got 30 more mini illustrations to do, so keep commenting (see the post with the running cheetah cub for more info)! By the way, feel free to comment the same thing, there’s a good chance I want to do yours but just haven’t gotten to it yet. This little guy (and all the rest of the illos) are on a 5”x7” paper and will be for sale in the shop (update: this one has sold, but prints are available!) in the Inktober section starting today! amilliontinylines.com (link in my bio)
Inktober 8: Bats, as suggested by @marissajurik@tawnyaaaaaa and @mantarayden, thanks for the suggestion guys! I’m waaay behind on Inktober now, but I cannot seem to shake this flu 🤒 this little guy took all my energy and more. Anyways, the IUCN currently lists 24 bat species as critically endangered. Of the 1,296 bat species, almost a third are considered threatened or data deficient, indicating a need for more conservation attention. Bats are an integral part of many environments around the world. Some plants depend wholly or partly on bats to pollinate their flowers or spread their seeds, while other bats also help control pests by eating insects like mosquitos. Loss of habitat is the main threat to bats worldwide, with the forest they use for roosting and foraging disappearing at an alarming rate. Bats are also being driven out of mines and caves due to guano (bat dropping) mining and thoughtless tourism. In many countries bats are killed out of harmful myths and misplaced fears, and in some southeast Asian countries bats are hunted for bushmeats and used in folk medicines. You can help by reducing the pesticides in your lawn and garden, promoting natural bat habitat by leaving dead trees where they lie (where they aren’t a hazard), putting up a bat house (instructions on batcon.org), avoiding disturbing bats by staying out of caves and mines where they are known to roost. And my fellow climber followers can help out by following @climbers_for_bat_conservation and checking out their website, where you can let the right people know if you encounter bats while out climbing. This little starry guy is for sale in the Inktober section of my shop, along with prints on both paper and canvas!

This sickness crept up on me like a stalking wolf 😓 I hate being sick, not so much because of the discomfort or anything but more because I’m totally useless and can’t get anything done. I hate not being able to be productive... I have to keep reminding myself that resting and getting better is productive in its own way. But ugh.

I LOVE working in coffee shops, for some reason I always get a ton of work done in them. The steady low hum of quiet talking, people around me also working quietly, a chai latte on hand.... it allows me to go into hyper-focus mode. This is my favorite coffee shop in town, @mugscoffeelounge. Great atmosphere, great lighting, awesome employees, creative drinks, and fantastic food 🙌🏻 what’s your favorite place to work? Btw, you can support my coffee shop hours by buying me a coffee using the link in my bio! ❤️ ps- the illustration in this photo is Alpha, and is available as a print on both paper and canvas and as a sticker on my website, amilliontinylines.com (link in my bio)
