The #AudiTT has been one of Audi's most recognisable cars, mainly because of the cutesy first-gen model. But now, the company has decided that the current, third-gen car will be the last one to bear this name. It plans to replace this sports car with a similarly sized EV.
We expect this to be a sports car, and Audi has confirmed that pricing will be along the lines of the current TT. Given that the current TT is based on the MQB architecture, shared with cars like the Golf, Passat and so on, the EV could use the VW group's MEB architecture. This architecture is the basis for all of the group's mainstream EV going forward. The more expensive #Porsche and Audi EVs will be built around a larger, unrelated structure.
We expect this EV to have a sleeker, more aerodynamic look, taking influence from the upcoming ID cars. Power figures should be around the range of the current Audi TT, going up to 400PS and the range could be around the 500km mark.
The Audi TT first arrived in 1995 and was a huge departure from the more angular styling of Audis prior to that.
