This is my last week @thejunctionmandurah I’ve got 20% off everything in store until Sunday. So if you’ve been waiting to buy something from in store, this is your last chance 😊 Tate’s not for sale though 😂
When I first moved into our house 5 years ago, it was winter.. we experienced so much rain and some mad storms. Our little tin roofed shack surrounded by huge gum trees suddenly felt very small and vulnerable! I remember staring out of our curtain-less front window at a huge lightning storm equally loving it and freaking out that those gums would come crashing down on top of us lol. 5 years on, I still can’t sleep well if it’s windy and stormy but I’ve grown to love the trees and especially love the rain on our tin roof. This painting (now finished 🙌🏻) reminds me of how I fell in love with the trees on our property. I can almost smell the eucalyptus 😆🍃🍃
‘Peachy’ 70cm x 100cm will be available in my next release 💕
As Australia is in the grip of an extinction crisis we continue to push on with outmoded models of "progress". This little #blackthroatedfinch is my contribution to the #1000finches project kindly initiated by @cwatson_studio , an opportunity to reflect, to educate, to mourn the ongoing loss of species and to share our collective grief through creativity. I will be sending this original work to Environment minister Sussan Ley and copies to several other ministers both state and federal. If you'd like to get on board you are welcome to join us. Visit Charlotte's Instagram site (above) for sign up and details.

Took my boys to watch Toy Story 4 today, which we all loved even the semi scary parts. Then I can home and managed to pop a layer on this green babe
Back in 2013, I signed up for Open Studio Painting at Meadowbank TAFE where I got to spend one day a week at their studios painting. I had a job I didn't like, (story of my life) and was really missing my art. I could have used the money for another plane ticket to Europe but I yearned to create again.
It wasn't a course or anything, just the privilege to use the facilities with other painters and be guided by an experienced artist named Tony, who advised us every now and then. We got to work on our own projects and create whatever we wanted without being assessed, so there was no pressure at all. Occasionally, we had a critique session, which is always valuable. I felt like a student again for 6 months, without the stress! 😂
The place was nothing flash and it was cold at times, but being there made me feel so much peace and my heart was silent for a change. I churned out a few pieces that shifted me out of the old comfort zone. I used oils again, created collage, painted night streetscapes - which is my dream body of work.
I rummaged through a few props and decided to paint this still life. Every week, I had to take out the bottles and try to duplicate the setup and ofcourse, the lighting would be different each time. I call it, "All my friends are different shapes and sizes". So thankful for the time I spent there. It was like an escape! And I hope to create the same kind of space or feeling again. Soon. 🎨💕

Delighted by @christopher_jewitt's new work! Exploring a range of different tones across various pieces, there's something joyous to be found in each painting. Some are smaller in size compared to his previous work, at 790mm x 610mm. For more information, please get in touch with our team or view and shop all Christopher's work online.
