The harmonious interplay of landscape and architecture, art and culture, as well as traditional and modern, all within a surprisingly small area, merely adds to the special charm of Salzburg ❤️ 📷 by @salzburgaustria

Might have been the scariest hike I ever did. Not because there is a small trail up here and you fall down all the way to the bottom if you do one wrong step. Oh no, that was the easy part.
From a bunch of crazy cows chasing us over their meadow, my camera breaking due to god knows what, to the weather turning on us from pretty sunshine to hail and thunderstorm within minutes ⛈
This hike had it all.
I remember @evolumina saying “Oh look, rainbows, how pretty.“ 🌈 and me being like “Oh frick, we should look for shelter”. Lucky us, construction containers on the mountain made for the perfect place to wait out the storm before hiking back down in the dark.
Long story short: good times and I’ll be back! 🇦🇹
In 1679 Vienna was visited by one of the last big plague epidemics. Fleeing the city, the Habsburg emperor Leopold I vowed to erect a mercy column if the epidemic would end. The Baroque memorial is one of the most well-known and prominent sculptural pieces of art in Vienna.

The Marble Hall (Marmorsaal), the former banquet hall of the prince-archbishops, is generally regarded as one of the “most beautiful wedding halls in the world”. In former times, the likes of Leopold Mozart and his children, Wolfgang and Nannerl, made music here. Nowadays, it regularly hosts weddings, conferences and awards ceremonies. The Marble Hall also provides an atmospheric venue for the SchlossKonzerteMirabell concerts.

"On that night he took his most painful and scariest memories out of his heart and gave them to the angels. They put one memory on every distant star and as they burned down into scars and dust, he knew that is exactly how he wanted them to be; horrible and beautiful at the same time but faraway in the distance." ________________________________________________
